A new NFL fantasy league
I've heard Norm talk about being involved in this type of fantasy football league. Basically, all you do is pick one game for the first week. You just pick the winner..not against the spread or anything..just pick one team that you think will win that week. If you get it wrong, you're out. If you get it right, you keep on playing. You don't really have to invest much time or effort into it. I thought we could give it a try on here if anyone's interested. And perhaps if it goes well, we could put a little money on it next season.
Is anyone interested? All you have to do is pick one winner for week one and so on if you continue to pick correctly.

But you can't pick a team more than once, right?

...I've heard of leagues going both ways. In some you can pick whoever. In others, you can pick a team only once. What do you think? Regardless, I'd be surprised to have more than one person standing going into the playoffs.
How about this. You can pick whoever you want until the playoffs. If there's more than one person left once the playoffs role around, at that point, you can pick whoever but only once.

Either way is fine with me. I'd do it. I've done these before. I think they're called survivor leages.

I'd be willing to give it a shot. Where can you set one of these up?

I'd probably be a one-and-done, so I'll pass. Great idea though, and I think it should be conducted in a public thread so that I can cheer/jeer from the sideline.

It'd be easy enough to set it up here in the Lounge. As for being one and done.. I'm sure that'd be me considering I'm the guy bringing up the idea. I'd get kicked in the nuts and get knocked out the first week.

We could do it there..but, I thought it would be nice to have something more easily accessible to people on this board. Yeah, I know, yahoo is easy enough, but it would be an interesting little competition to see play out in the lounge.
But honestly, it's whatever you guys think.

Ok, you've convinced me. I'm in.
So... who's the next '07 New England/ '08 Detroit?
EDIT: I also vote for hosting it in the Lounge. It'll be like playing in front of Texas stadium with all 22,568 of our members watching!

So murph will have to establish a list of participants, those eliminated from week to week, fight through the people who think they can just jump in and start posting picks, and police late entries and edited posts.

and just so you know.... mods can see edits (what time edits were made, what was changed, etc....). And I think we should set the rule that your pick must be in by the kickoff of the first game that week? Do you agree Murph?

I will boldly declare the Lions as week one victors since the game has not yet started and none of what I just said counts.
