Slow load times.

Has usership been sharply up lately?

I'm noticiing very, very slow page load times, and wonder if other people are experiencing similar phenomena.

Same here. Only at certain times of day, though. Probably just high traffic.

I have had several pm fail to send because of the "timed out" error....

Maybe the moderators care to address this, and if there's anything we, the users, can do to help? This is a truly high quality board and it's a shame that it's being dragged down by traffic.

It is not about the traffic, I think. Many sites with a lot of traffic -and images- load way faster.

I think it's the software. FuseTalk uses ColdFusion, a program that handles media resources, also has modules working independent -as the PM or Chat features- of the main stream of programming, that make the overall product work inefficiently.

Some say it could be the server but I don't know bad commercial servers nowadays.

We quit to buy FuseTalk after comparing it with other products. The only aspect in which it won in our analysis was the user interface.


Edit. Something is missing: the site slows down maybe because the traffic increases or the server gets busy in some point when the software demands too many resources while other brands don't.
