Nash just stood there. He didn't even try to get a hand up or say so much as boo while his man drained another 3.

Sadly, if Dallas' crap defense keeps up, they'll continue to hit. I never thought I'd ever see the mid-season C-grade Dallas Mavericks ever again this year, but I guess I was wrong. They better step it up in the 2nd half.

They can if we keep giving them open looks.

Dirk+Marquis are a combined 10-for-20 ( Marquis 9-for-10, Dirk ... )

Glad Nellie gave Bradley his token appearance so that he can point out that "tall ball" didn't work.

RE: Official Mavs @ Seattle, April 10th gameday thread
Well the Sonics strength is shooting the 3 ball and I'm not entirely upset with all the open looks since most of their guys are quick and have very quick releases....
I'm more upset that they can penetrate easy and dish off for seeminglessly endless 1 on no one dunks.....
Their outside game really has opened their inside game and it doesn't look good at all.....
Unless the Mavs can either A) Step up their defense 5 of 6 notches or B) Hope Dirk and Nash go on a shooting frenzy....or C) Every Mav steps up and does a little more on both ends; hopefully it will be enough.....
At this point I don't see any of the 3 scenarios happening.....I mean Daniels has really dones his best offensively....but as bad as the first quarter was the 2nd was even worse!
Hopefully all 3 of what I said needed to happen does indeed happen in the 2nd half and the Mavs win going away.......
There's always hope.......

When Dirk, Steve, and Antawn shoot 4-24 and you give the opposing offense any look they want, well, you get a 20 point halftime deficit.

I am at least glad that Nellie abandoned the zone early in this game. It probably won't work but the zone is worthless when the shooters are hitting. BTW, why can't Najera or Bradley play when they are playing man to man?

True....
I was happy the Mavs weren't down 10 after one......
but now they're down 20 after two......
30 after 3??? Let's hope not.....
I'm sure Nellie will give a good yelling and fit in the locker room and the guys will step up in the 3rd......
The 3rd quarter is key....there has to be a significant change in the effort and play in this quarter......the lead needs to be cut in half at the least....for a chance.....

RE: Official Mavs @ Seattle, April 10th gameday thread
I don't understand why Nelson takes players out that are playing well. Daniels being the only exception in this game. Walker (despite the turnovers) was actually giving the Mavs something. Najera and Williams in their short stints showed more energy and emotion than Dirk, Nash, and Jamison combined.
Many things irked me in the first half but none other than that last play before the half. Nash has Dirk on the right and Daniels on his left. Daniels is heading towards the basket and Nash passes to Dirk instead for a 3 pointer 2-3 feet behind the line.

I see what you're saying here MF......
but you can also go the other way too......Dirk sat way too long in the 2nd and getting him back in with a couple minutes to go in the 2nd half isn't enough time for him to get a good shooting rhythm......and even if he does it's not long enough till it's half time and his shot might leave in the locker room never to be seen in the 3rd quarter!!!
Nellie needs to take Dirk out yes...but put him back in with some adequate amount of time to get something going.....

They need to get within double digits by the end of the quarter to have a shot. And Dirk and Nash need to lead the way.

Daniels "Future All-Star" is really giving it to them, but we need more from Dirk like that...

RE: Official Mavs @ Seattle, April 10th gameday thread
Dirk loses Lewis and that leads to a transition dunk
Best doesn't fight through a pick, which leaves Dirk in an iso with Ridnour
Walker doesn't pay attention as Lewis runs by him in the lane which leaves an alley open for the lob.
I know we're not a good defensive team, but right now we're not even mentally into it. Just disgusting when you consider what's on the line.

Any word on Finley? Is he expected to miss the rest of the regular season or is he day-to-day?
Thankfully, Nelson took Dirk and Nash out.

Ouch...pretty ugly. Hand it to walk to stay out there and battle. Have to wonder about the "captains".
