My goodness. If anyone is watching 76ers summer league right now (LOL) there is a pg named McConnell and this dude threads the needle. These are NBA level assists and he's doing it cross court.

Isn't that the dude who got into Dirk's face?

The 76ers have a couple of young guys over there that I wonder are they willing to trade like a Covington, Jerami Grant and TJ......for as bad as they've been they sure have managed to find some late round steals or undrafted guys.

@bobbykaralla: Mavs win, 84-81. Darius Adams (25 pts, 6 ast) and Vander Blue (16 pts) led the way. Those guys can play.

Yea, They can play for sure. I'm enjoying their game. They are both very good off the dribble and slash really well. Adams has good vision and plays solid defense.

@bobbykaralla: Casey Prather finished w/ 23 points & 4 steals. Vander Blue and Darius Adams recorded 6 dimes apiece as Mavs win 97-92 & finish 2-3 in ORL.

@bobbykaralla: Mavs also 1-pt and 2-pt losses. That team could easily have gone 4-1 instead. Played very well this week.

Excited to watch a little summer league. Of course, I'll be keeping my eye on AJ Hammons and Justin Anderson, but I'm also interested in seeing if Dorian Finney-Smith can make the Mavs roster. His potential to be a 3 and D player along with versatility to guard multiple positions has me intrigued.

Matthews, Powel, and Curry in attendance. That tickles me so much. Good teams have chemistry and supporting each other is a great start. Plus high expectations.

Hammons had a nice little pass there to set up JA for a 3. He also had a nice rebound and put back. He definitely looks to have a physical presence out there. Had a nice block just now. Seems to work pretty hard contrary to the opinion of him coming out of college.

DFS looks mature out there. He seems to play within himself. I'm keeping my eye on him so I might be biased, but he seems to be everywhere on defense. His length really bothers the other team. Especially at the rim. I think he had a couple of players hit 3s over him. He seems to be active as an offensive rebounder.

JA looks to be in midseason form as far as his shot is concerned. I think this guy was a great find by the MBT. I feel like he's always going to be improving.

Well Anderson still has a long way to go with the ball in his hands. Really hope he learns how to use his size and athleticism to get some ft opportunities. At least he made his 3's though. Wouldn't mind if they threw a couple into the post so Hammons can do more than stand there and set screens for all these guys to just turn it over. Wish we had someone like Mekel to at least get us into our offense within 10 seconds.

Anderson def needs to work on his handles, but he's a grown ass man out there. His size and tenacity is going to be crucial off the bench, especially when facing tired first stringers.

My first impression of Moore is he reminds me of Marquis Daniels a bit.

Gibson can shoot the rock for sure.

Gibson on fire. Am I crazy to think this guy is going to make a NBA roster this year? What about the Mavs? Not sure about his passing thus far, but he has good handles and a great shot.

who's Gibson? dude can score but would like to see him set others up.
he looks tiny...

Hammons seems sound fundamentally - he looks huge but boxes out and gets good position defending the post.

Well Gibson averaged 42ppg and 42% from 3 in a terrible league last year. He can score though... I just don't know if we need an undersized 2 guard(Btw he's 28 yrs old alrdy also).

Also oddly enough Gibson has been in Summer League the last 4 years and he was awful. So I wonder what in the world has gotten into him but if not the Mavs he might play his way into a partial contract.

listed at 6-2, 185
went to school at New Mexico St.
played summer league a few times with some other teams and averaged like 6-7 points.
maybe he's added to his game since then...

Gibson is an undersized 2 guard who can shoot very well. Potentially he has room to grow. Much rather give spot 15 to him than to Jason Terry.

would really like to introduce A.J. Hammons to P.J. Tucker.
Tucker had a questionable NBA level motor - until someone on the Suns got thru to him
and told him in very real terms what it would take for him to make it in the NBA.
