I agree it’s past time to look past WCS and Sterling Brown. Give Moses and Green their minutes, they can’t possibly be worse.

I am beyond done with WCS. I'm shocked at how bad he has been.
I still would like to see Frank starting especially with Luka.
JB is a beast in the 2nd unit,. That's his ideal position, 6th man, but we can't keep him beyond this season like that imo, which will be the result of yet another front office eff up.

Do the Mavs ever want to develop young talent again? I think Green is a bust, but yeah, he can't be worse than Brown. And Moses can't be worse than WCS.
Moses had 12/15 against Gobert last season. Kid just needs minutes.

Agree about Moses. Give him all of WCS's minutes.
Also, I wanted to give kudos to Kidd on utilizing KP more for his passing skills. I've always thought his passing ability was underrated and you can't teach 7'3" and the court vision at that height.

We would be a championship contender with Tyrese Maxey.

Kleber out tonight
Luka doubtful
Not expecting a different result, but I was super proud of our guys for playing them strong until the last two minutes without Luka.

I’m too lazy to look it up, but what happened to Kleber? Was he hurt in a game?

He landed funny and tweaked his back. Looks like just a stinger, but those can plague a player for an entire season unless fully resolved.

I understand wanting to go with vets to start the season and giving Sterling a shot, but neither have played like vets tbh, especially not WCS. It’s like when they check in to games they both seem high. No focus or intensity from either of those dudes. Green and Brown at least have great unteachable traits like length and athleticism and good motors.

Mavs held strong until the fourth
Then they got buried by Suns talent and Mavs lack of Luka

Felt like Suns just bided their time until the fourth.
This team is not very fun to watch without Luka.

Dallas just doesn’t have the bench players that the Suns have. Without Luka, Dallas is really struggling to get good shots.

Their entire offense this quarter has been Brunson dribbling around in circles until 5 seconds left. Bold strategy

Sitting here at the arena watching this game and I'm say this to all the fans who didn't believe a deadly mid range shooter like DeRozan wouldn't have fit on this team then you obviously don't know basketball.
This team desperately lacks a guy that has that in between game to get you easy buckets late in games
Chris Paul has put on a clinic in the mid range game.
Now my observations is JB should study CP3. Way too often the Suns bigs didn't respect JB's outside game so they played him for the drive every 4th qtr possession
Length still bothers him big time.
KP is solid seems to have really taking a liking to Kidd when you watch his demeanor on and off the floor.
Javelle McGee used to be in Dallas and it still amazes me how he never got off the pine on a team that was desperate for size at the time he was here.
Finally, I'm about fed up with Reggie Bullock. This dude is looking more and more like another waisted FA target in the same mode as Wright and Richardson
It just seems like the mavs are horrible at figuring out what 3 & D wing they need to acquire because none of them seem to play well here.

Yeah they coasted for 3 qtr's in both games vs Dallas and then turned it on in the 4th
Suns fans were going crazy all around me tonight made me want to punch someone in the face LOL
Mavs need a legit secondary ball handler but Cubes has been knowing this for years and still hasn't done jack shit to go get one.

Yeah Bullock is not turning out like I thought. Not that he was a prize get but it’s gotten much worse.
It’s really amazing how the Mavs have so many players that are seemingly good at nothing. Just spare parts floating around the court with zero cohesiveness.
And Brunson is still really great, but he showed tonight too much exposure his flaws come out.

This has more or less been the Mavs since 2011. Imagine if we didn't draft Luka and Brunson.
I just hate relying so much on Luka.

Yeah, it sucks we got to over rely on Luka. Also, we could have signed Javale Mcgee and Dennis Schroder in the offseason, not home run hits, but they would have been quality singles.

Yeah I was only reminded of this because a Suns fan mentioned how McGee never touched the floor in Dallas yet he has contributed in some capacity for every team he's been on since he left Dallas.
It's almost mind boggling how bad the Mavs have been when evaluating FA players.
I know Nico and Kidd just got here but man it still appears as if we whiffed on Bullock and Brown just like we did our entire 2020 draft class

I don't want to read too much into two losses to a true contender without Luka, but I think we can all see the lack of offensive talent/ creation. Brunson is fantastic for what he is, but ultimately he is a 4th option on a great team. If KP can be that third option we are still a second banana away from being a contender (unless we build a cohesive TEAM like the 2011 Mavs).

50%: Dorian Finney-Smith’s three point shooting percentage over his last 6 games.
That’s a welcome return to form for a guy who shot nearly 40% from three last year, but opened the first six games of this campaign by shooting just shy of 19% from the arc. Also plays into a Dorian story line worth following this year: Finney-Smith has increased his 3 point percentage in each of his first five years in the league. To accomplish that feat this year, he’d have to best last year’s 39.4%, so it’s nice to see his current hot stretch of shooting keep that dream alive.

I like DFS as a 5th starter on this team.
I don't like Powell and THJ as starters.
I've been a WCS fan but he has become a huge disappointment and isn't worthy of being in the rotation imo.

Tim is shooting is shooting 33% from three for November. This is why I wasn't crazy about keeping him. He is the king of inconsistency. He simply can't keep shooting like this even when Luka comes back.
I saw on twitter that KP only took three shots in the second half and made all three of them. Wtf, we need to force feed him especially with Luka out. That's a coaching mistake right there.

I feel like Kidd has been a few beats slow getting him back in in the 4th quarter. There have been games when he brings him back under 5 mins left if I’m remembering right. And sometimes if you wait too long a few possessions go by with no dead ball. I’ve always liked bringing scorers back a few minutes earlier so they can maybe get a rhythm.

Brunson is solid but I firmly agree with those that say if JB is your PG 1 you are not a very good team. If we are honest with ourselves JB would be a bottom half of the league starting PG.

THJ and Reggie Bullock each pulled the vanishing act once again
Prop's to Kidd for finally figuring out how to use KP but the rest of this roster is just trash so it won't matter what Luka and KP does

At least Kidd figured out KP, but he can't fix the rest of it.
Again, we'll start winning again with a healthy Luka, but it won't hide the realities of the roster.

Dallas role players are missing in action
Take your pick of any player not named Kristaps Porzingis or Jalen Brunson — just about all of them stunk it up offensively in some way. Tim Hardaway Jr., Reggie Bullock and Dorian Finney-Smith combined for 15 points in their combined 92 minutes. That is not good enough, Luka or no Luka.
Hardaway in particular was the most disappointing. Finney-Smith and Bullock rely on mostly catch and shoot looks generated by Doncic and while Hardaway does too, not this much. We’ve seen Hardaway carry this Mavericks offense when Doncic is off or out with an injury and he just didn’t give the Mavericks enough Sunday afternoon.
It might be time to start wondering about Bullock. He was scoreless in 32 minutes against the Clippers and only took two shots. He’s now shooting 29 percent from three on the season and Doncic’s availability hasn’t been the biggest factor in that slump. Bullock is simply missing his shots. The Mavericks have to figure out a way to get him going or the offense is never going to reach the heights this team wants it to.

Might be time to worry about Bullock?? He'll I've been worried about him. He has sucked. 32 mins and ZERO Fn points. Dude can't dribble and because of that he always picks it up and often gets caught in a bad way. Powell, Maxi and Dorian can handle the ball better. Straight trash, Josh Richardson is having a better season this year and I never would have thought that would happen.

THJ sucks too but I already knew they shouldn't have re-signed him so it is what it is with him. He's doing what he always does. I will say that while his shot wasn't falling he had a bunch of assists....a bunch for him.
