The electoral college needs to go. I think we can all agree on that. In our history of 57 presidential elections, the EC has gotten it wrong five times now. That said, that's not an excuse for losing this election. A weak candidate with a listless, uninspiring campaign strategy that focused on the Boogeyman instead of her own platform is what lost. All parties knew the rules going in.

Popular vote needs to determine the election going forward. Democracy is about following the will of the people and the EC failed to do that in this race.

What's the will of the people when:

• at least 71% of eligible voters did not vote for each of the candidates

• at least 52% of actual voters voted against each of the candidates
