Cuban gave Ortegal a cracker jack ass ring - HAHAHAHAHAHA
Let's scale it back a little.

good to see Dirk getting some rhythm back.....he is def not 100 percent, but I am loving the fact that everytime he is on the floor the offense just looks really really solid
maybe 5-6 more games have to pass in order to see the old dirk back....i still feel more passes have to go through him becasue everytime he had the ball in his hands a smart play happened
great progress keep it up!

the game was boring even though it was a high scoring one.
I though Dirk looked a little better physically.
Odom seemed to know what he was supposed to do
Vince did his shyt
West killed em off the bench

This was just the kind of game we needed after blowing that lead last night. Just kicked the crap out of an inferior team and didn't let up.
VC was awesome for the second night in a row. Delonte looked great too.
I'm loving what Roddy B is bringing right now. His numbers are nothing to write home about, but he was solid, if not spectacular, on both ends of the floor.
Marion continues to be our best all-around player. He's clearly been our MVP so far this season.
Dirk is obviously still nowhere near 100%, but at least he looked a little more comfortable about there with his jumpshot. We need all the nights like this we can get where we can afford to have him out there for less than 30 minutes.
I also thought Odom quietly had a good game. Didn't score a lot, but at least he wasn't jacking up bad shots, and I thought he looked better on defense than he typically has this season. I don't think we're ever going to get what we expected out of him at the beginning of the season, but if he keeps playing like this we at least have a very solid backup PF.

Don't forget, Phoenix paid VC more money to just go away than the Mavs are paying him to play for them this year...

Stats:
Game:- @dallasmavs beat Suns 131.62 to 106.80 pp100. It marks the 4th game in a row that Mavs allowed >100 pp100, 6th time in last 8
- Due to pace it was not the best offensive game of Mavs this season. Their efficiency vs. UTA three days ago was 132.55.
- The offense came to live lately. In 6 of last 8 Mavs scored >100 pp100.
- Got that feeling that since Barkley said Mavs are back to outscoring opponents, offense picked up and defense regressed. Crystal ball?
- Mavs post their first DRB% in the 80s (82.93) since 01/16 at Lakers. TRB of 57.17% is tied for season-high with recent game vs. UTA.
- After posting a season-low Assists rate vs. Spurs, Mavs come back strong today (64.58%). AST/TOV at 2.82 marks season best.
Lineups:- The starting unit outscored Suns 34-29 on 113.05 DefEff, most efficient was Terry-West-Carter-combo, 27-16 on 95.29 DefEff
- Roddy is embracing the PG role? With him 70.83 of FGs were assisted, best value among all guards that played today.
- Haywood again leads rebounding at 25.00% TRB. Team rebounded 56.25% of all rebounds with him and posts 103.33 DefEff
Players:- Roddy is embracing the PG role? (Part II) USG% way down, trails entire team outside Haywood, still PER of 20.9
- West (PER 43.6, eFG% 95.8), Carter (PER 40.6, eFG 80.0) lead advanced metrics, lead team in WS48/WP48.
- Unadj. +/- goes to Carter (+38.91). Effs with him: 150.67 Off - 109.24 Def. Offense without him: 105.91
- Statistically Wright and Ian might not have contributed to the win (slightly positive WS48, slightly negative WP48)
Rankings:- Mavs drop to 6th in Defensive Efficiency in the league (98.82) due to latest results. Also 6th in Opp Points in Paint and Opp. FG%
- Offense is now 14th with 103.29 Points per 100 Possessions. No change in my schedule adjusted ratings (14th overall)
- Here's the gameflow chart. Mavs separated themselves in the second and never left Suns back in.

Not sure how telling this is, but in Kidd's 15 games as the starting PG this year, he's had 7 assists or more 4 times. In Roddy's last 3 games of essentially starting at PG, he's done it 3 times.
Also, Kidd has yet to have 3 straight games with at least 7 assists. He did have back to back double digit assist games, however.

Roddy looks like he is making that tremendously tough leap from amazing athlete, to basketball player. His decision making has improved leaps and bounds. Even though his numbers aren't off the chart, with this team it doesn't need to be.

Of all our players with at least 100 minutes of playing time this season, Roddy ranks 1st in PER and 4th in WS/48. At least that was the case entering the game - I don't know if those numbers changed after tonight, but I would imagine he's still 1st in PER.
So his numbers are actually very good, he's just not necessarily making his hay through scoring. But he's rebounding the ball really well for a guard, blocking shots like a center, swiping a ton of steals, and he's tossing in a decent number of assists for good measure.
To quote Jason Garrett, "He's doing a lot of good things out there, and he's doing those things well in all three areas."

What we're trying to do with him, as well with everyone else on our football team, is to stack one great day on top of another, and to get ready for the Giants, who will be in the stadium at 4:15 on Sunday.

I thought scores were 124-99? EKS tweeted it.
@EKS_MavsNBA
Earl K. Sneed
FINAL Mavs 124 Suns 99; season-high points for the Mavs and West, who had 25 points. Carter with 21 and Marion with 20.

122 is correct.
Dojo went to the line with 3:33 remaining and the score 112-93. He hit both, but the scoreboard only counted one. They tried to correct it during the next possession, but the board went from 113 to 115 to 116 instead of 114 like it should have. The rest of the game it was two points off.

I was really happy to see delonte just shooting the three quickly and with confidence. He has been sort of hesitant, good stuff.

Anyone else forced to watch the game via the Suns broadcast? While watching I learned that Dirk is the best 6'10" maybe 6'11" shooting big man in league history who shoots freethrows exactlt like Larry Bird.
I also learned that the Mavs only won the championship because Miami wasn't very focused for game 2 and didn't really deserve to win, Miami was clearly better.
It's one thing to dismiss the Mavs championship but come on, Dirk has been 7 feet tall and in the NBA for how long now? He's one of the 25 best playerse of all time, show a little respect and stop literally trying to make him seem smaller.

When Dirk went back to Germany in summer he was asked in a TV show by a little girl how tall he is. He said that he's about 214cm, which is 7ft and a tad.

Yeah I had to watch them. Is it just me, or does League Pass never use Mavs commentators? I know they used the Jazz, Suns, and Hornets crews even when we were at home. It's a lot easier to listen to opposing commentators when you're blowing their team out though

It must depend on who your provider is. I have DirecTV, and LeaguePass always gives me the option of the home and away feeds when both are available. So, unless its a national broadcast, I get the pleasure of listening to ol' kickball head.
BTW, does anybody else find it funny that Harp now on most ocassions refers to Mark as "Follo"?

Ah, I have League Pass Broadband, which for some reason doesn't give you a choice.

I'm guessing they still feel anger for us beating them in the WCF in 06 and now their franchise is a joke.
