Post your predictions now (for all teams or just the Mavs)! And check the forum polls in the next day or two to put in your vote on how far the Mavs will get this year!

West 1st round
Sacramento sweeps Utah 3-0
San Antonio sweeps Seattle 3-0
Lakers beat Portland 3-1
Mavs beat T-Wolves 3-1

2nd round
Mavs beat Sacramento 4-3
Lakers beat San Antonio 4-2

WCF
Lakers beat Mavs 4-2

Finals
Lakers beat East 4-1

The East has been so weird all season that I have only one prediction for the East: Some East team will get beaten by the Lakers in the Finals.

Mavs lose series 1-3 in a gutwrenching fashion after they lose both Nash and Dirk to injuries. Nick burns his bridges with the Mavs after the last game during a time-out saying GO Team, Go to Cozumel!!! Fin shoots 1-19 in the last game.....

(OK, I did this last year when the Mavs played against Utah, and it worked - reverse psychology)....

Go Mavs...

Sorry to say it, but I think SA will go all the way this year. The only thing that's going to stop them is a bad decision or two by Tony Parker

The Lakers will not be able to guard Dallas' 3 7 foot 3-point shooters without Shaq leaving the paint. Nick and Nash have a field day at the basket. Kobe is completely shut down by Griff-Buck-Newman. Shaq's toe wears down in the playoffs and gets unbearable chasing the Mavericks.

Am I wearing rose-colored glasses? Maybe, but I call it as I see it.

I'm not predicting numbers but.....

I want to see a Mavs/Spurs showdown in the Western Conference Finals.

It will heighten the rivalry between Duncan/Dirk and will be one hell of a power forward battle. There is not another matchup in the West that is as intriguing to watch as Duncan/Dirk.

It almost makes me wish one of them was in the East so that they'd be meeting in the Finals and not the Western Conference Finals.

That would be sweet wouldn't it. But I just don't see the Spurs getting past the Lakers. Parker has real potential but he's 19 and a rookie. Duncan will get his, but the rest of the team won't.

<< the Lakers lose 1st round >>

As you can see I predict that too. I hope the Lakers have problems "turning it on" this year in the playoffs. They have played pretty sloppy during stretches of the regular season. If the Blazers jump on em right from the start they might steal a game in LA, and then we´ll see. It´s possible, but it´s also very possible the Lakers just sweep the Blazers.

LAKESHOW in the house. not to boast, but to first of all say congrats on your win tonite against the kings.

secondly, shame on some of you folks for saying that the LAKERS won't make it out of the second round . . . pleeeeeeze, you've got to be joking.

thirdly, i've got the kings victorious over the mavs in 7.(basically i've got money down, so i gotta stay with the dough)

however, as a competitor and basketball fan, LAKESHOW says it would be sweeeeeet to meet up with your run and gun style of play in the WCfinals. you guys would post a formidable foe, and it would be interesting to see if that style of play, could be slowed down in a 7 game series. blazers, spurs, kings . . . ho-hum, been there done that. but the mavericks post a NEW challenge this year, that we havent faced. we faced the all-star ridden team of pippens blazers in 2000. we shredded the so-called "TWIN-TOWERS" last year in the spurs. and in 2002, an updated version of SHOWTIME would pose this years challenge.

i've got the kings in 7 . . . but as was proven tonite, homecourt doesnt mean jack. hope to see you there.

Well DTL, I want to be wrong. You don't know how much I want to be wrong but we just keep shooting ourselves in the foor every single game. And I don't see us pulling out a victory on Monday.

Of course if they come back then me eating my words will taste better than an apple pie

but that remains to be seen.
