Who's your all time favorite Mavs player/players?

Some of mine are, in no particular order.
 • Derrick Harper
 • Scott Brooks
 • Dirk
 • George McCloud
 • Popeye Jones

I wasn't a Mavs fan until Finley came on board, so I guess the players are limited to me....but

Finley (how'd you guess?)

Dirk

Greg Buckner

Eduardo Najera

I somehow forgot about Buckner...He's probably my second favorite of all-time, behind Finley.

Oh man there are just waaay too many! I wasn't a fan until the 92-93 season, so that's why guys like Ro and Aguirre aren't on my list.

Michael Finley
Dirk Nowitski
Steve Nash
Derek Harper
Loy Vaught
AC Green
Sam Cassell
Popeye Jones
Erick Strickland
Greg Buckner
Robert Pack
Ansu Sesay*

I didnt really become a real fan until the early 90's either... but my favorite players who wore or wear a Mavs Jersey are:

Popeye Jones
Dirk
Finley
Aguirre (imagine that)
Ro Blackman
Derek Harper
Mike Izzulino

And I want to wait until after this season to put Nash on my list. After all, its the first BIG year he's had, but I love his grit.

Well, I guess my age is gonna show, but I've been following the Mavs since the first season(1980, if I'm not mistaken.)The following have my votes:

Brad Davis
Jim Spanarkel
Ro Blackman
Derek Harper
Roy Tarpley(yeah, I know he was a coker, but, man was he good!)
Jamaal Mashburn
Jason Kidd
George McCloud
Popeye Jones
The entire current batch, but,especially:
Finley
Nash
and, last, but certainly not least, my all-time favorite:

DIRK NOWITZKI!!!!!!!!DIRK NOWITZKI!!!!!!!!

I've had mixed feelings about the 3 J's ever since the Toni Braxton incident My fave of the trio was probably Monster Mash though.

The hippy's favorite Mav of all time is Lever. Love me some Fat Lever. Good call on Izzy. Don't hear his name too often. Derek Harper was a hoss also.

Roy Tarpley and David Wood anchor my list of unappreciated Mavs... Does anyone else remember Wood and Charles Barkley getting into it in that Christmas day nationally televised Mavs/Suns game a couple of years ago? I used to think that Wood could teach Loren Meyer and Cherokee some of his dirty tricks in practice. I also used to think Cherokee could become a little like Bill Lambier... That shows you how much I know...

He has been ripping things up with the athletes in action squad over the last couple of years... I was sitting courtside at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, and got to see him two years ago when IU played AIA in the pre-season... Incidentally, my intramural team at IU is named Alchoholics in Action... That name has historically stricken fear into our opponents...

Anstey is playing in Australia right now, but what happened to him in Dallas and Chicago? Was he weak or was he a whinger or what? There's gotta be something wrong with a 7 footer who can shot if they aren't in the NBA!

Madeape's was probably the most consistent with my all-time maverick team. However as much as I LOVE Finley, I'd have to go with Rolando Blackman. I was in love with ever since he hit those two free throws in the all-star game to send it into overtime. I think that was in 87.

Actually Reeds is a friend of mine that lives in Wisconsin I told about this sight. I know he was going to look at the board but I didn't know he would actually posts here. A lot of the debates we have on this board, I have with him in person, so I guess he thought he would jump in.

Favs:

Dirk, Finley, Aguirre, Blackman, Nash, Brad Davis, Donaldson and Kurt Nimphius (remember him?).

Busts: Randy White, Garnett, Curcic, Joao Vianna, Alford, Jim Farmer

Potential Favorite Mavs of the Future: Wang, Harvey and Najera. I hope Nellie really gives Harvey a chance, even if he can't shoot it from 10 ft. out. Everytime I have seen him in garbage time, he has gotten into the opposing player's head. He also doesn't finesse things...he simply slams the put backs down!!! I wish I could have seen him against Malone for just a few minutes!!!
