yes, very very good. Especially the images of Nash almost breaking down as the fans were booing him, I didn't know what to say, how much Nash really wants to succeed or how some fans can be total jerks.

Nash deserved better from this organization. But he's gone now, and these pieces make it harder to hate him. We must hate him now.

Man, Stack, thanks for posting that. For those of us who were around during those dark early times, that's a hell of a trip down memory lane.
You know, most of us are probably jaded these days. I know I am. That clip reminded me that when we made the playoffs in '01, it ended an ELEVEN-year drought. Wow. And really a thirteen-year drought, because all 1990 brought was an embarrassing sweep at the hands of the Blazers. Suffering through those hard times is kinda why I'm pulling for the Warriors this year. If you haven't suffered through it, you just don't know.
Too bad those guys couldn't have stayed together. It brings me tremendous pride, though, to know that those two Mavericks--from out of nowhere--are the league's MVP three years running. Tremendous pride.

Frankly, I can't imagine what it's like not to make the playoffs and I'm sort of scared by the fact that this incredible run will eventually end. I'm 15 years old and have really only had to live through the good days. Can't imagine what it's like to have a losing season...

Heh, when I was 15 years old, it was quite the opposite. I only had really gotten to see losing season after losing season at that point. Then a month after my 15th birthday, we finally made the playoffs and ended that decade of ineptitude. Since then, it's been a fun ride.

When I was 15 (well, almost), the Mavs were manning up to the Lakers in a fiercely-contested seven-game series in the WCF. You know, the Lakers of Magic and Kareem and Worthy and Cooper and all the rest.
I guess I can understand how the young fans these days are so jazzed. Those were heady times.

I've been thinking the exact same thing, with me being 15 as well. I've been wondering what it will be like once Dirk's gone, and how terrible we will most likely be once he retires. I'm a Niners fan as well and enjoyed a couple very solid seasons, only to watch Young get hurt and Rice become a Raider and the Niners plunge into the depths of mediocrity. They've finally come around, but those 5-6 years were tough to endure. It will be even tougher if/when the Mavs have to go through that.
We just need to enjoy these seasons now, because they won't last long. I'm enjoying every minute of them.

Thanks for the link/video
I have grown pretty bitter with Nash due to the National Coverage that he gets compared to what he and the Mavs had when he was here.
Watching that clip reminds me that my bitterness should be to the Media and not to Nash.
Both the these guys are great players ... thanks for the trip down memory lane

Damn. I do remember the booing of Nash. Was there ever a given reason for it? That was definately one of the most embarassing times in Mavs history. Even more embarassing than the 3J's fiasco and the 0-82 seasons we use to have.

The sad part is how some of the old-timers believe that this current team is not anywhere near as good as the 80's team...
How can current National Media respect the Mavs of today when some of todays Mavs fans don't even respect them?
I was a kid during the 80's...at least what I can remember of those days, the Mavs where great and fun to watch. Many considered the Mavs to have the best Backcourt in the game...but they where seriously lacking up top.
This team today, is more complete than any Mavs team EVER!!! I would put this team up against past great teams...not just in Dallas but in the NBA...
Of course to seal the deal, this team must close the deal...I tip my hat in anticipation of the playoffs!!!

What's considered the Mavs backcourt? Rolando and Harper? People really considered that to be the best backcourt at the time? I was wayyyy too young to even remember what things were like back in the late 80's.
