Szczerbiak Pulls A Webber, Hands Suns Win
February 9, 2008 - 1:30 am Seattle Times - Wally Szczerbiak did his best 1993 Chris Webber impression on Friday night, trying to call a timeout with 15.1 seconds to play when the Sonics didn't have any which helped Phoenix escape with a 103-99 victory. According to the Associated Press, Seattle trailed 100-99 and had the ball out of bounds beneath its own basket with 15.1 seconds to play, but Szczerbiak could find no one open and signaled timeout. The end result was a technical which the Suns hit, and then Phoenix retained possession. |

I think the tech is fine..and giving the other team 1 free throw..but giving them possession of the ball is kinda stupid...i guess if it happens a second time it would be fine

I want to complain about the rule but that's a hell of a F up. Guys who do that heads aren't in the game. You should know if you have any timeouts are not. The coach should let you know. I'm guessin' PJ didn't let his players know because he was livid when Wally called the timeout so he knew there wasn't any left.
