And DoJo may not shoot well, but he can pass pretty well, he defends like a bulldog and he can reboud decent.

Oh and Dirk and Chandler should be paired up. That pairing is so much better on offense than the Dirk/Haywood pairing.

And the Bulls commentators are saying the Mavs have too much offense. Um, no. They don't have any offense other than Dirk.
Kidd/Marion/Butler/Terry are scorers only by reputation nowadays.

As Bob Ortegal just mentioned, Terry at the point and Dojo at the 2 seems to work.
And what would this team be without Uber? He just...well......rocks....

Yep, he sure is an impressive (scrappy) rebounder for his size.

The Bulls announcers on the Mavs problems: They've got too many guys that can score.

Why play Stevenson? Just let DoJo stay out there. Everyone and their dog knows what Stephenson can do. Let DoJo hopefully improve.

Exactly what dimension does Barea add to this team? He can't shoot, his size makes him miss every shot in traffic and in the paint, he can't play defense, and he's not a particularly crafty passer. What am I missing???

How about Caron with 33 minutes? Weird for a second preseason game to see him and Dirk get so many minutes....

Butler really frustrates me. He's supposed to be a much better offensive player than he actually is. He's shown no signs that he can fit in effectively as a second scoring option. And it doesn't help that his main offensive skill set overlaps those of other players (and those other players do it better).
I dunno..I just don't support starting him. Marion needs to start and guard the elite swingmen, with Roddy starting at SG to provide more offense. Butler needs to come off the bench and be the scoring engine for the second unit.
Edit to add: He is having a good second half but his game bothers me and I don't think he's a very good fit. Could just be a gigantic knee jerk at this point though.

this.
But for this we need Roddy to really step up on MIP level, 15-16PPG minimum.
Dirk/Roddy two guys that can score and create from everywhere and the rest solid defenders. 2nd unit can trash any other bench with Terry-Jones-Butler-Chandler.

Yeah, he just cannot score "at will." It is painful watching him try and get buckets on his own. And he aint a good catch and shoot guy.... so the Mavs are stuck.
And Roddy so needs to be the SG on this team.

Honestly even if Roddy fails as the starting SG, I'd just move Jet into the starting lineup. At least he's proven that he can play off of Dirk. Bringing Marion off the bench just makes no sense to me, especially when I hear them talking about him being one of the main scorers on the second unit.

More consistency on the jumper would be a welcome addition to Caron Butler's game in 2010-2011. His jumper has looked good in the fourth.

What has Marion done that is so great this game? I like Marion, but I'm not seeing the Butler hate. I think the main problem is the drop off after Dirk is pretty big....

Our roster is so weird that its better to bench some better guys just so the starters mix better. Kind of sad...
Ah and Chandler should start so he can maximise his minutes with Kidd since he is a much better catch&finish center. But then Haywood gonna complain
