Imagine the Sixers drafting KP instead of Okafor because of the option to play him alongside Embiid with his range...Simmons-KP-Embiid. Thats just a sick combination of skill, maximum talent and pure size

If they had that frontcourt, they'd be instant contenders with health. Simmons has really impressed this year and Porzingis looks like a worse rebounding and passing, better rim protecting Prime Dirk.

Lolonzo Ball...4-15. Shooting 29% for the season. And people worried about his weird shot....

And I totally didn't call it before the draft that he'd have significant issues with his shooting.

Yeah my biggest concern was his shot, namely that he could only shoot going left. It's not just a funky release or that it's low and he shoots it coming down rather than at the peak of his jump. He cannot have that form and shoot while moving right. I said it multiple times and anyone who watches him play one time can see it. I'd bet anyone here on this site who saw him play saw the same thing. Only just this week is it being brought up on tv by Barkley of all people... as if this is news. He has to overhaul that shot otherwise he's going to be limited even more than he already is. He doesn't have the athleticism to make up for not being a threat shooting going right. All you literally have to do is force him right and give him space so he can't use his length. All he could do then is toss up a floater or pass it off. Maybe get post position and develop a post game. But then what is he? Shawn Livingston with no jumper going right and a better passer? That's the number 2 pick? So glad he's a Laker, I can't wait till fans turn on him and Lavar calls Laker nation out this is only just beginning IMO.

Yeah it's sad how many ppl on tv and media just dismissed the shooting concerns and just labeled him as the next Jason Kidd.

Lonzo is crap. Cant believe the Lakers took him #2 in a loaded draft. Glad they did.

He's 100% perfect there. All about style over substance. Reality show, crazy dad, similar game to Magic (despite being infinitely worse).

I couldn't think of a better place for Lonzo.

But did you see that dribble up to half court and then the pass to another teammate. It was a long pass!

The real problem is that being the "new" Jason Kidd (tall pg who can do everything but shoot) doesn't work in today's game. You have to be able to shoot or you're Ricky Rubio.

You could have prime Jordan in Houston and the arena would still be half empty.

Kings leading scorer this year is Zbo? At 13ppg? No way we can compete with that.

Also so far Crowder has been pretty forgettable as a Cav. Either Stevens put him in a great position or Cavs are misusing him. He's a shell of himself though.

The Kidd comparison was always bullshit.

The Ball ceiling is Ricky Rubio with better Rebounding but much worse defense.

Everyone on Cleveland sucks because they know Lebron is leaving. It's not a secret, and they won't be motivated knowing they'll be stuck in Cleveland when he leaves.

Crowder has been absolutely terrible, but I never really bought into his hype the way most people did. He is a serviceable player at best that looked good under a very good coach.

I dont miss Crowder because he was a good player. I miss him because he was a great person, teammate, and energy/locker room guy.

Guess Cleveland is too much for even him to energize and inspire

And Dwayne Fade...holy crap. Derrick Rose passes worse than Harrison Barnes and of course is hurt again.

And how about Lolonzo Ball versus the Wizards last night? Wizards didn't have Smith Jr to deal with.

And the coaching ability of Tyronn Lue is really not established either in my opinion. From what I've seen, Brad Stevens is a really, really good coach. Good coaching is putting players in a position to succeed. Popovich and Jackson are two of the greatest at doing that and Stevens is quickly moving into that categoy.

He only has two options -- do what LeBron says or don't.... He's screwed either way.

Few observations:

There are a lot of young guys in the league making noise. Makes the NBA fun to watch

Tonight, Harden 8-25 with 38 points! 19 got damn free throws...

Last night, Clips lost to the 76ers. Embiid went bananas. DJ? 30 min, 1-2 for 2 points, 5 rebounds, fouled out LOL. And this is without CP3...you would think he would be much more involved offensively. F him for wasting that week of FA, but so glad we do not have him in a Mavs jersey.

I was so wrong about Otto Porter. Really thought he was just another wing who was gonna get overpaid due to circumstances like Parsons and Barnes. He does have Wall and Beal with him so it's not like he has to be a number 1 but every shot he takes I just expect to go in when I watch the Wizards.

Bulls just scored 7 points in the first quarter on OKC. That's not a typo, I didn't mean 17.... the number 7, jersey number of Dwight Powell.

Yeah Kings are currently down almost 30 to Atlanta. Gives them both 3 wins if it stays like this but Kings are the worse team of the 2 for sure.

Kings only ended up losing by 46 to Atlanta.

Good news is that Hawks and Kings both have 3 wins to our two.

We really can’t win. The league is so competitive

Lolnzo is 1-9 so far and a game low -18. ESPN of course hyped this as Lolnzo vs Simmons.

De'Aaron Fox has been hot garbage lately. Shooting matters a lot in the NBA, and he might actually be a worse shooter than Ball. Definitely take Smith Jr over him at this point.

And I'm rooting for Frank to be good, but he just isn't an impact player. That was his big knock being drafted so high. I think he'll be a decent pg and great defender, but will he be a big impact player? Haven't seen evidence of that yet.

Frank is still only 19 (!) though too. And in a new country. I think he's been impressive. I think he can be an impact player without being a superstar, like an Alvin Robertson type that is really good offensively but elite for a guard defensively, leading the league in steals and making a few first team all-defense. He's averaging 3.5 steals per 36. He has a nice release so the shot should come around.

I agree. We finish at best 3rd worst more than likely. Bulls are worst to me by far. Only nice piece they have is Markennen and an injured Lavine. Dunn looks like Antonio Daniels redux. Can't really deal Lopez easily with great FA center class coming. Sold the Jordan Bell pick. Hoiberg was undermined. What a shoddily run organization.

I had to edit to add: I still cannot believe they sent the T-Wolves a mid 1st as part of that deal!!! In a loaded draft. Looks like they hit on Markennen. But the rest of the deal was an injured Lavine who relies heavily on athleticism, with questionable defense and shot selection and likely bust Dunn. And THEY sent the T-Wolves a mid first along with an all-star Top 15 or so in the league in his prime on a great contract.

I agree with this... The two biggest worries with Frank were his upside, and how quickly he could become an NBA player. I think his ceiling is still going to be capped compared to the other guys picked around him, but his development is coming along nicely, and he seems to have a pretty high floor already. I think he can definitely become an impact player on a playoff team, just as long as he doesn't try to stray outside his role. He's never going to be THE MAN, but he can be a cornerstone player (like how post-peak Marion was for us).
