Fans count for 50% toward starters, 25% players, 25% media. It's the reason Luka wasn't chosen last year. If it were only fan votes, he would have gotten in last year. Changed in 2017.

Luke Doncic left Thursday’s Dallas Mavericks practice after rolling his right ankle.

It’s the same ankle he injured in December that forced him to miss four games.

“Don’t know the status,” head coach Rick Carlisle told reporters.

The New York Times’ Marc Stein reports that Doncic will undergo an MRI on Friday. The Mavericks’ next scheduled game is Friday night against the Houston Rockets.

He's learning from Dirk-- every time you have an ankle sprain, more adamantium soaks into the joint until you are invincible. Miss less time, less likely to sprain it again.

Just wait until his final form when he's so strong he can embed the teeth of his opponents into his own bones.

What bugs me though is that these guys somehow didn't get it until this season? Almost like we had a repeat of the draft where people were still "unsure" of how Luka turn out? Butler should be WITH Luka...

Boggles the mind that players didn't want to team up with Luka and KP this past summer...

Well, it doesn't hurt if they are actually wanted and pursued without all the hand-wringing and gnashing of teeth over "FIT!"

I get it, tbh.

They're great, but they're YOUNG. Young players don't win. I mean, WE think that they'll be ready to win sooner than a less amazing (but still championship caliber) duo would be, but they're not winning a championship this year or next.

That summer of 2021 really will be the Mavs' first and only chance to hit it big in free agency.
