Rank Teams 5 years from now
I think this is kinda cool. Interesting to see what teams people thin will be great and what teams will fall.
This is my list compared to other people's, you can go here and do your own. I got the Jazz first, Mavs 19th, and Spurs last
http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sport...=120#topOfList
I guess my list doesnt show up...but thats how I had some of the teams

don't forget new orleans....how can you forget new orleans?
Paul, West and Chandler will be 27, 32 and 30 -- that's a really, really nice 1, 4 & 5 threesome in their prime...and last I checked they're doing pretty good right now.

New Orleans and Orlando could because of all the talent they have and if they keep them. Two very good choices. The Spurs and Lakers are by far the two best organazations being run and also the Pistons. They refuse to suck or even be bad.
The Lakers can always pull off trades for players like Gasol and trade nothing to get players like this. The Spurs are so smart and Parker will be 30. Bynum will be good 5 years from now also. The Pistons will have to start pulling some strings to get younger. Those 3 teams seem to be top notch. I feel Lebron will keep the Cavs good for awhile and especially if they draft right. The big guy from Orlando is very very good also and i agree with them. The same with Paul and NO.
Toronto is another that could be but they seem to get rid of good players just before they get really good. It will be hard to ever replace Duncan but that organazation seems to touch anything and it turns to gold and they are not lucky but very smart. Teams like the Hawks, Knicks and now the Mavs seem to spend like crazy and be strapped out and no room for any improvement and still suck as where the Spurs are never the highest paid team and are always close to being the best in basketball. They have room to improve every year.
The Hawks look like they have maybe turned the page and are smarter(maybe). They do have talent. The Knicks, it is just no hope for them. Now we have done the same thing, the highest paid, one of the dead oldest and pretty much suck. It wasn't always this way as it seemed we was going the way as the Spurs and was smart like them untill we went crazy and the wheel jumped off.

In 5 years, basically the only players that will be under contract with their current teams are rookies, players that just signed long term deals (most will be nowhere near the player they are now), and future draft picks.....so 5 years is pretty much impossible to project.
* I just looked it up and the Mavs dont have anybody under contract for the 2012/2013 season
Anyways, this is my list:
1.Magic - Dwight Howard is actually still under contract with Orlando in 5 years. I cant wait to see the player he will be then.
2.Hornets
3.Jazz
4.Cavaliers
5.SuperSonics
6.Bulls
7.Hawks
8.Spurs
9.76ers
10.Mavericks
11.Lakers
12.Suns
13.Heat
14.Pistons
15.Celtics
16.Nuggets
17.Grizzlies
18.Bucks
19.Clippers
20.Nets
21.Trail Blazers
22.Bobcats
23.Rockets
24.Raptors
25.Knicks
26.Wizards
27.Warriors
28.Wolves
29.Kings
30.Pacers

1. LA
2. Wherever Lebron goes
3. New Orleans
4. Portland
5. OKC Supersonics (Durant homer pick q=))
Why not the Lakers?
Players in the NBA nowadays last a lot longer than other sports because of great training staffs & programs..
Kobe is only 29 now and I envision him to be like Jordan was in his 2nd championship run. Still the same intensity/focus..not not as explosive..but smarter and with a sweet fadeaway..who can block that?
Gasol is only 27 right now...he has the fundamentals to be in the league a long time..see Vlade Divac..with more scoring..
and the rest of the Lakers are a YOUNG team. They will be good for years
