Johnny Cash had been sick for a while. I heard on the radio that John Ritter had a heart attack on the set during taping of his relatively new series "8 simple rules for dating my daughter."

Grace and Peace to their familes and all affected by this very sad news.

It is a dark day indeed. The man in black has packed up and wandered into the great blue yonder.

It makes no sense to me that John Ritter-- seemingly healthy, vivacious, young-- can be dead yet a "I look like death" 74 year old Yasser Arafat still roams the earth.

Sorry, just a thought piqued by the quick succession of Ritter and Arafat stories this morning on TV.

Quite a surprise to read about John Ritter this morning. It's scary to think about the suddenness of it.

Even knowing the time was coming with Johnny Cash, we'll still miss the legend.

I'm not a C&W fan by any means, but always loved Johnny....got to meet him once at the Lodge at Big Cedar outside of Branson...and I was completely awestruck. What a man ! His recent video, nominated for the MTV awards, was incredibly poignant and I wished that it had swept the awards. I honestly don't know if I can watch it for a while. RIP....to the REAL Man in Black.
