I loved Haywood showing some emotion, he seemed to lack it for a good while the last part of the season. Man, I'm excited about what this team is capable of. Spurs are in for another first round exit from the looks of it. Dirk was amazing!

There is probably no other team in the NBA I like to see a win against more!

My goodness my phone is lighting up with texts from spurs fans with their excuses and 4 rings and what not... refs being bias... my phone is going bizzerk.

36 points on 14 shots.
Butler was only 8-19, but he played a good game.
Kidd looked awful for awhile, but he made some nice plays.
Jet needs to get his shit together.
Marion was good on D.
Haywood played better than Damp IMO
Don't know what happened to Damp's fts

That was a very businessman-like victory. Just went in there and handled our bidness.

Just send a one word response to each one of them: Dirk.
That's all you need to say.

Yep. Game was never really in doubt. The Mavs were cool and confident except for that 3TO stretch.

I noticed the Spurs weren't even whining that much. Either they know they're hacking or they're already giving up.

Will C. Webb eat crow now, after he said the Spurs would win? Doubt Ernie will hold him to it.

Nice game. I just hope Jet gets his shot back and Carlisle switches Damp/Haywood's number of minutes. Those happen and I can't see the Spurs winning more than 1 game.

Gawd I love playoff basketball. And gawd I love Dirk. When the two work together, they make me feel funny in my pants.
Dirk.effing.Nowitzki. Has anyone EVER score 35+ points while only missing two shots of any kind? Only one turnover? Are we looking at the most efficient game in NBA history? I have a hard time believing this has ever been topped. Goodness gracious what an evening. And I really thought they were letting them play down low tonight. There are nights where the play would have resulted in even more free throws. Dirk Dirk Dirk. Awesome.
Caron Butler was awfully good. Not the most efficient night, but he carried the Mavs for stretches and really ignited this team in the second half. Hell the Spurs double teamed him in the post tonight. When's the last time someone other than Dirk was doubled?
Jason Kidd was...well...Jason Kidd. He hit huge threes, he made huge steals, he grabbed huge rebounds, and he led this team. My only quibble would be the high turnovers, and that goes for Butler as well.
I thought Damp played awfully well tonight. I was shocked to stroll into the post game thread and see people going crazy for him being in the game down the stretch. I thought Damp made Duncan work awfully hard tonight. And by my recollection it certainly seemed like a lot of Haywood's burn came while Duncan was on the bench. I have to think that was by design. Not saying Haywood was bad at all. He was quite good as well. He brings a different dynamic to the team offensively. But Damp has a lot of experience to draw on in defending Duncan and I wasn't surprised at all to see him get the higher minutes tonight.
Jason Terry...ooof. He should thank his lucky stars that others bailed him out tonight. And this is why Caron Butler is so important to this team. He may not be a second scoring option night in and night out, but if Caron isn't here Jet's game absolutely kills this team tonight.
Marion continues to struggle a bit with the bunnies, but he hit a couple big ones in the fourth quarter off of the set that took advantage of how they were defending Dirk. And I thought he guarded Manu relatively well.
The team really, really struggled when Barea was on the court, either at SG or PG. Not a good night for JJ.
Great stuff tonight. Let's see what the chess match brings us Wednesday.

Damp was good, not great, defensively. Terrible on offense. Haywood was as good defensively and so much better offensively. Their minutes (29 for Damp, 17 for Woody) should be flipped next game, in my opinion.
Dirk is Dirk. Crazyness. Hit some ri-dirk-ulous shots, especially when he throw that one shot up there not even shooting it and it went off glass. He's so awesome.
Kidd? You know he's going to hit threes when you need them. And he always fills up the box score. 13/8/11/4? That's a normal day at the office.
Butler? My player of the game (edit: maybe not so much now that I see his 10 missed shots and 5 turnovers, but its nice to have someone that can legitamently carry this team when Dirk's out). Dirk was awesome, but we needed someone to step up and Butler was carrying this team for a short stretch. Not just offensively, hitting a fadeaway 2 and in your face 3, but getting a charge and a steal defensively.
JET will step it up. He always does. Good effort, loved that one save he had where he ripped it away from a Spur on the baseline, and falling out of bounds threw it to Damp.
UP 1-0! Ain't no statistic that can change that! Hell yeah, bitches!

Exactly. The calls against the Spurs we're clearly obvious fouls. Only the butthurt, bi-polar, delusional Sperm fans will make excuses about officiating. That was a hard-earned win but we must play better than that next game though.

Yup.
Exactly how i felt.
I guess our team defense and Dirk's 12-14 were mildly impressive.

Love how those bozos aren't realizing that by playing Hack-a-Damp they were also purposely putting themselves in the penalty against the best ft-shooting team in the league.

Oh, Pops did try to lobby for calls and Timmy whined for a minute but when it doesn't work, you shut your mouth and play ball---Way to handle your business Mavs!

Terry HAS to step up, he cant suck ass in 2/3 of all playoff games.
We survived this because of Butler and Kidds improved scoring. Last season we wouldnt survive it.
Take care of the ball. 7-8 TO were absolute horrible. Butler has to lean to pass out of the double team.
Barea scares me like always. He had like 2 good moments...

Yup, though if possibly I'd like to improve that 7/14 FT shooting. Which, by the way, I thought Haywood would have had at least one 3 point play given the opportunities Damp had (not when being hacked, but the 2 or 3 times he got fouled after that).
