Your putting a lot of stock into the early deficit but again after that early portion this unit really had the clippers at bay for 2nd and 3 qtrs until KP got screwed

We don't have the horses to play small ball with them because their wings are longer than ours and more Atheletic

With KP, Kleber and DFS as stated before you loose some offense but you make up for it defensively.

If you think your just going to win games by out gunning the clippers it'll be a sweep
You clearly didn't watch the game. Rick switched lineups after Luka tweaked his his ankle. That lineup wasn't used again the entire 1st half. We didn't get back into the game until after MKG and Curry hit 2 3pters a piece. That right there was 12 points.

They started the (Luka, THJ, DFS, Maxi, KP) lineup again in the 2nd half and couldn't score.

The lineup is bad. The eye test and the stats show it. It has been bad the whole season.

That might be the best of both worlds.
That Luka, Curry, DFS, Kleber, KP lineup is -3.2 over 140 possessions.

The best lineup we currently have is the Luka / Curry / THJ / DFS / KP lineup with +10.3 over 342 possessions.

Vs the Clippers? I don't know about that lineup, unless they're shooting insane percentages. There's no defense on the floor. Playoff basketball especially vs the clips is a different story.

I agree 100%

We can't defend the clippers with that lineup and we sure as hell can't rebound with it.

This is playoff basketball you got to play some defense and unfortunately THJ and Curry as your wings aren't going to cut it.

I'd rather go with a lineup that can at least rebound and defend the paint.

Soneone pointed out the mavs started struggled to score starting the 3rd qtr with ty hat big lineup

Well guess what the clippers weren't exactly getting anything easy doing that qtr either

It wasnt until KP got kicked out the game that they took over

Besides in the regular season our small ball proved time and time again they can't matchup vs the clippers so why not giving 4th the big lineups a longer look before passing judgement.

Maxi was -20 last game, while Curry was +13 and Burke was +14. The big lineup stumbled out of the gate in both halves. Doesn’t mean it will be the same again, but for at least this one game the smaller lineup was better.

Maxi played about as bad as he could though, and fwiw Doncic had what, 5 turnovers in a span of a CPL minutes? That plays a factor too.

Maxi had first game playoff jitters. He'll be fine tonight

Be real. Smartest guy on this team of smart players? I think it's tough. I just listened to Jalen Brunson, and he sounded really smart. Then Dwight Powell went to Stanford. Not Ivy League, but it's still a damn good school.

Yep, but he just has a lot of can’t and aren’t in his post when what actually happened says otherwise.
