Just wondering what you all think is realistic for this year's squad. Pick one or more of the following:
1. winning the Midwest Division
2. winning the Western Conference
3. winning the NBA title
4. best regular season record (west only)
5. best regular season record (overall)
*EDIT*
6. making it to the WC Finals (thanks bayliss )

best reg. season record overall. not sure about the rest, winning a title is realistic but not counting on it. depends on 1st round opponent for me to really decide how far i think they can go.

I think the Mavs take the West, have the best overall record in the west, and make the conference finals. I don't think they win it all this year, but I would sure not be surprised if they did. And if they do, I will party all night long. The new guys althleticism has help carry the Mavs in the first tow games, but I feel that the Mavs will need at least ten more games or so before a consistent flow begins. We have some tough games ahead. It will be fun to watch.

Drbio, you said they take the west and get to the conference finals. correct me if i am wrong, if they take the west dont that put them in the finals? the mavs will have the best record in the league if sac dont. i dont know many teams in the east that will have a better record.

I think drbio meant taking the West in terms of having the best record.

I expect the mavs to win it all THIS YEAR. Anything less and I am going to be very disapointed. It might or might not be realistic, but that is how confident I am in this team right now.

I would call this a successful season if the Mavs won the divison, went to the 2nd round vs the Lakers, and made the series stretch out to at least 6 games.

You don't think the Mavs have a shot at moving ahead of the Kings (record wise)?

Shot at best record - yes
Shot at Western conference finals - yes
Shot at NBA finals - yes
Shot at NBA champion - yes
But the question was "realistic". One rung - winning the Midwest and extending the 2nd round series - is a realistic goal.
