My thought on this plan is that it's not going to be good enough to put championship talent on the court.

The ban hammer will be in full effect as Rockette fans troll our board thru Sunday.
They are more annoying than Heat bandwagoners, especially now that they've become Cavs bandwagoners.

It should be hard to turn down $45M for 1 year especially if this is the last max contract he will be get.
|
For $40M+ more at 1 year, I would stay in Miami and would not care who else is on the team. In Bosh's case this will be his last big pay day so maybe he will stay in Miami.
I also do not understand why if the Rox get Bosh, they also match for Parsons, but if they do not get Bosh, then Parson is outta Houston.

They can exceed the cap to re-sign Parsons. So it'd be their "all-in" move.
If Bosh doesnt sign they have the same team as last season w/out ability to improve from without.

And to build on that, same starting unit, less depth. Not at all clear that matching is the right thing for them to do if they don't get Chris.

If Rockets match the Mavericks offer, Dallas better look at Luol Deng, Trevor Ariza and Lance Stephenson quick. I heard the Suns are really trying to get Luol Deng

It cannot be a s&t. You can't s&t a 5-year max contract.

Really hope Mavs fans keep it classy. Nothing more classless than trolling the forums of other teams. Let Houston fans be as classless as Heat fans.

Worse are the Mavs fans jumping the gun talking crap about the FO. Anything slightly negative happens and it BOOM, smack talk time.

This..... pretty much what I was like ???? about for the past two hours. It's a win win until peoples "ideal" situation goes sideways and they have to resort to the 2nd best option. Just silly. Think about the 26+ other teams we have clearly been superior to consistently for the last 15 years.

Some of us are not jumping anywhere, we are steady as a rock.
For the record I like the parsons, monta moves a lot. ( monta less so, undersized). But at least it is picking up longer term assetts. Now if we actually had a player or toe who didn't completely stink on rookie contracts you have the makings of a plan.

Edit: fuuuuu
Luol Deng's representatives spoke with Miami officials today, league source says. Deng hopes to choose landing spot in next 24 hours.

@sam_amick: Meanwhile in Houston, I'm told the Rockets have not made up their minds on whether or not to match Dallas' offer sheet on Chandler Parsons

There may come a time to trash talk them, but it is not here yet.
Exhibit A: Monte Ellis for 8 million. Perhaps the best free agent bargain of 2013.

So is this a case of bosh reneging on an actual promise? I must admit the rockettes are clearing out a lot of room just on the hope of bosh, ( very Mavs like )

If I'm Dallas I want Ariza or Stephenson over Deng anyway. Shocked that Bosh turned down the Rockets, he must be in love with the city of Miami. No matter what the Rockets decide you know Morey is going to wait until the last minute to match the Parsons offer just to make the Mavs sweat anyway.
Getting Gortat flashbacks. Really frustrating but hopefully Ariza and Stephenson are smart enough to realize they can command 12+ on a multi year deal if they just wait a few days.

Sounds like Deng really wants to go to Miami now.
Ken Berger: Lakers and Mavs among teams strongly pursuing Deng. But source describes his options today as: "Miami, Miami, and Miami.".

Seriously? I didn't just now start getting negative about the Mavs front office. I think they screwed the pooch after the championship and I think they've been screwing it pretty consistently since. Yes, they've improved, but I don't know that they can recover to not completely waste Dirk's final years as they have since the championship. The Mavs can't draft. They've obviously misjudged the impact that the new CBA would have on free agency. Cuban couldn't even tear himself away from Shark Tank long enough to visit with a free agent that he felt was key.
