GDT: Game 17 - Mavs (3-14) at Hornets (10-8) 6:00 FSSW/FSSE
Mavs on second game of a B2B after losing at home to the Spurs. Hornets are 4-6 in last 10. Mavs are 1-9.
Hornets are hot/cold, but average a lot of points this year. Kemba is particularly dangerous. We'll have to see how Matthews handles him.
Hornets are 5-5 at home
Mavs are 1-9 on the road
injury report
Dirk - out - achilles - did not travel
Barea - out - achilles - did not travel
Bogut - out - rest
Curry - questionable - knee sprain
Harris - minute restriction - foot
Williams - minute restriction - calf

Mavs need to stop swinging the ball around pretending like some sort of offense will come out of it.
Just iso Barnes, Deron, or Matthews every play. The rest of that is just jargin.

WHY WOULD YOU PASS THE BALL TO FINNEY-SMITH WITH 7 SECONDS LEFT ON THE CLOCK? WHY IS FINNEY-SMITH EVEN PLAYING?

Wow, Gibson passed the ball straight to Anderson who somehow didn't see it coming. Turnover.
Team hasn't a clue what to do on offense. It really is a lot more than just the bad offensive talent. There is bad offensive BBIQ.

Otter pup's message to Cubes when he is talking about not bringing out the tank! Our offense is a true marvel guys. Talking about tanks, that big beast above me really messed up the forum, didn't it?

Simba has looked a lot better in 4 of the last 5 games. Maybe he's trending upward.

The Hornets are absolutely begging to lose, and we have the worst offense in the league.

Only Powell would let Jeremy Lamb score on him plus the foul like that.

I flip to the Maverick game at the Cowboys break and the first thing I find myself saying is, "Cmon we need this loss let's go men." Against everything I've ever stood for but I can't help myself. It's the NBA in 2017.

Matthews with the big otter play! Didn't need to oversell it with the airball imho, but otherwise nicely done. Dude has balls!

The guys scared me for a second, but luckily we prevailed. We need to reinforce our first place in the second most important standing. Matthews was Mavs Matthews again, and that was a key difference. Continue to play the young guys and rest Bogut. I think we have another losable game coming up, against the Bulls? They are inconsistent though, so we'll see.

Another slow start for Barnes, he got it going there down the stretch when we ran offense through him. Typical otter strat though we went away from it for a Matthews airball and Gibson TO.

Simba also had a good game and only poor play I thought was his travel trying to do too much. 15 points in just 18 mins, the only player with a positive +- tonight. RC kept him out in favor of DFS though to keep the streak alive.

It is really good to see Simba catch his stride… I think he was packing too much weight (muscle) to start the season and is slowly getting back into basketball form.
