Another fun stat:
Chris Paul is 0-14 in the last 14 playoff games called by Scott Foster
It’s not just the Mavs that have a ref issue.

lol - interesting...
however, to my clearly unbiased eyes (and with the sound off and only half paying attention), the portion of the game i saw was called ok with the exception of a few ticky tacks called in favor of Paul.
C Paul is destined to never win a chip

Sucks for PHX, but I’d rather CP3 never win a ring.

Siakam looked terrible. Guys just sag off him and dare him to shoot and teams can sit on his spin move. Toronto should try to run more. Their half court offense isn’t great, especially without Barnes. Philly just backed off Siakam and Precious leaving all contested looks from 3.

If I had to choose between Jokic and Embiid providing both are healthy...I'm taking Embiid all day, every day.
Incredible game winner.

Nah. Jokic is still a much better player. Great shot by Embiid. But Precious really chumped that down the stretch. 2 missed ft, turnover and on the final play he lost Embiid on a screen by Tobias. He was just totally caught flat footed and so Embiid had a much better look than he should have.

Yeah there may be a time coming but for now I'd still say Jokic - Embiid is uber talented no doubt but gimme Jokic.
now one thing that stood out to me - Precious is a big dude but i have to say he looked small compared to Embiid... like tiny just about.

I respectfully disagree, Embiid can be a little bit of a ball stopper (although he is certainly the more dominant scorer). Jokic is a playmaker who lifts those around him.

By all accounts, Terrence Ross provided the rebuilding Orlando Magic with the ideal veteran presence during the 2021-22 season. But Ross has made one thing clear: He’d like to continue his career elsewhere.
Although he’s made it clear he’d like to be in a different situation, Ross said he hasn’t explicitly requested a trade. He’s entering the last season of a 4-year, $54 million contract ($50 million guaranteed) he signed with the Magic during the 2019 offseason. Ross, who’s the longest-tenured Magic playing having been in Orlando since February 2017, has an $11.5 million salary for 2022-23 — about $1 million more than the projected standard mid-level exception ($10.3 million). – via Khobi Price @ Orlando Sentinel

i think the bucks will probably lose to the Bulls then... Holiday is solid and all but he's just not good enough on offense to take over a game esp if the Bulls lock down and double Giannis

But Embiid still averages 4.2 assists per game, so it's on like he is a black hole who isn't passing to his team. I just feel like his dominance as a scorer is more important than the all around play of Jokic.
He also has that intensity as a player that you can't teach. He wants to shove it down your throat and then some.

I like the Bucks. Built the right way, smaller market. Hate the Suns. Almost exclusively because of CP. Not a huge fan of Booker either though. Love his game, he just seems arrogant.

It’s funny that Goran turned down the raptors (and maybe Mavs, although we may have given up our pursuit after SD) because he wanted to go far in the playoffs
Nets were swept. Raptors are still in and their adjustments are giving them a chance of an upset. Mavs are up 3-2

How would Dragic fit into the rotation here? I'm not seeing where I'd poach minutes. If anything maybe from SD and JG, but then again, the 8-man has been solid, albeit for one series.

As much as SD has been disappointing in the playoffs, I don’t think we want/need Goran now.
Before the trade, I’d have penciled him in for that third ball handler spot

Despite hating Beverly it’s actually fun to cheer for the Wolves. They play with a ton of passion and they’re giving the Grizz all they can handle

I weirdly want Minn to win. I think it’s because Ja has been crowned as a superstar who some think is better than Luka. Him getting upset in the first round might pump the breaks on that a bit. They do play with a ton of passion which is fun to see. Minn giving it away here though. KAT needs to demand the ball on every possession.

He is literally terrible 50% of the time which is a weird phenomenon because it goes from AMAZING to TERRIBLE at the drop of a hat. And it happens in the same game, too.
Oh and the worst defender I've ever seen. Yes, worse than Nash or Harden.

given what we've seen up until this point - how valuable is Trae? Can he ever be the best player on a championship team? does he just need more time to improve or is he what he is at this point?
clearly a gifted offensive player but a huge negative on defense. Just so limited on that side of things i don't know that there's any possibility of improvement really...

He has the speed to be a waterbug guard that can at least keep up with his man, but he can't keep up with slower players to save his life. It's so weird. Lack of effort.
I think Atlanta needs a better coach. That would go a long way.

I mean Nash was like that and he was fairly successful but never won anything.
I still think Nash was 100x the creator, though. His ballhandling and court vision was maybe 2nd or 3rd all-time.
Trae? NBA is trying to make him a star, but he's Stevie Francis at best and without Yao, Francis flared out quick.

I just had a back and forth with a Hawks fan on twitter. I commented on a Statsmuse tweet showing Trae's awful series and how we can put to bed any remaining arguments that Hawks somehow won the trade and if Trae is even in the same atmosphere of Luka.
I also stated I would take SGA straight up over Trae and I don't think I would hesitate.

Minn down 1 has the ball with 26 seconds. DLo brings it up the court. Doesn’t pass it. No screens set. Drives and takes a terrible shot. Not sure what he was thinking.
