It’s a sad day when a guy who can’t even get a guaranteed deal or more than 20mpg with the 17-55 Rockets may actually be better than the guys we have.
I absolutely think Cousins is running on fumes, but I think there would have been a chance if he was here that he’d immediately be better than WCS, Powell, and Brown. Probably tied with Boban.
That’s way more about us being absolute $&@%# In the front court than him being good.

Good thing he signed that extension when he did..
Denver Nuggets F Michael Porter Jr., will undergo a surgical procedure on his lower back and miss an indefinite period, his agent Mark Bartelstein tells Adrian Wojnarowski.

Marc Stein: The NBA announces slap-on-the-wrist penalties for Chicago and Miami in the sign-and-trades it had been investigating since August involving Lonzo Ball and Kyle Lowry. Both teams only lose one second-round pick each. 20 hours ago – via Twitter TheSteinLine
That’s it? Is that supposed to keep teams from tampering in the future? I’d tamper all day if it meant landing a star player if all I’m losing is a second round pick.

Every FO should look at that and laugh, and then implement their own ways of tampering. Deals getting done less than a minute into free agency aren't possible without a little background communication.
Oh nooooooooo not our 56th overall pick whatever shall we dooooo

Do you think some of the Mavs doldrums are that some of the players know they are
going to be traded Dec. 15.
My guess is Brunson, Powell, Kleber for the Raptors - Dragic, Siakam
THJ to Sacramento Kings - Buddy Hield, Alex Lin.
KP to 76'ers - Ben Simmons.
-ooof- I was dreamin' - man what a dream.

Weird dream to be saddled with Ben Simmons and that awful contract and non-existent shot.

Multiple sources said that the Pacers are receptive in trade dialogue with rival teams centered on potentially moving guard Caris LeVert and either two-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis or center Myles Turner. All three players have frequently garnered significant interest from rival teams. Pacers officials have received frequent calls on both of their big men over the past several seasons, but new head coach Rick Carlisle wanted an opportunity to spend time with Sabonis and Turner and grow with the roster. 11 hours ago – via Shams Charania, Bob Kravitz, Shams Charania and Bob Kravitz @ The Athletic

Isaiah Thomas has 19 points for the Lakers. So he's already better than 90% of our team.

Yep...even with all of that, that game by him is still better than what Bullock, Powell, S. Brown, Frank, etc. etc. bring on a nightly basis.

How to get a call in the NBA:
1) complain to the refs
2) don’t be Luka
https://youtu.be/K_Vr7aHCk7k
Lebrun passes it out of bounds off his teammates foot. Gets ref to change it to kick ball— and then it goes back to the Lakers for no reason at all. Refs really love Lakers and Lebron.

That in season tournament idea sounds like a giant yawn to me. Just another shameless money grab. Who cares who wins some random mid-season tournament?

Agreed. I think you would see some good games/competition because players might play harder if there’s some sort of prize ($$$), but otherwise I couldn’t care less about some random tournament mid season.

The Los Angeles Lakers will not sign Isaiah Thomas to a second 10-Day contract via the hardship exception. Despite being eligible to re-sign Thomas to another hardship deal, the Lakers are going to go in a different direction.
Multiple teams are expected to show interest in bringing in Thomas.
In four games with Los Angeles, Thomas has averaged 9.3 points in 25.3 minutes per contest. Thomas has shot just 30.8% from the field and 22.7% from behind the arc. Lakers went 0-4 during his tenure.

Adrian Wojnarowski
@wojespn
Vaccinated NBA players and coaches can now clear quarantine after six days if Covid-testing data shows they’re no longer at risk to be infectious, according to a memo distributed to teams Monday and obtained by ESPN.

Adrian Wojnarowski: The NBA has postponed the Golden State-Denver game source tells ESPN. Nuggets don’t have the eight players. – via Twitter wojespn
Why hasn’t Denver been forced to sign G league players or guys that have been retired for 5 years like every other team?

I really liked the G league idea at first, but...
-G League players get covid too which is a pretty huge misstep.
-Teams aren't forced to sign replacement players right?
-There isn't enough time to sign and integrate players into the team. AND they get covid anyway.
It was a worthy experiment, but it probably would have been smarter to just postpone the NBA for a week or two.
Here is the reality with Covid....nobody has the right answer.

To be fair, they've had a ton of injuries. A healthy cast of Collins, Capela, Bogdan, Gallo, Huerter, and Hunter is damn good.
Aside from injuries, the elephant in the room is how truly putrid Trae is on D. Trae ranks 138th in the league in RAPM because even though he ranks 3rd in offensive RAPM, he ranks 567th in defensive RAPM. Just awful.

Man, how about Lance Stephenson? A lot of these vet guys deserve contracts. His talent was never in question, but can he keep his head on straight? Perfect fit for Rick who loves these kind of vets.
That just means rookie Duarte will be heading to the dog house soon.

Adrian Wojnarowski: There’s optimism within Nets that will be a four-to-six week rehab and return for Kevin Durant, sources tell ESPN.
I guess this opens up the MVP conversation a bit?
