Good start to a great tournament.
I'm rooting for two teams...France and USA. France played a rather boring and dull game, but secured the draw, giving themselves at least an opportunity to advance. They will need to step it up, but not sure they have the talent to rise to the challenge. Team USA played well and also enjoyed a bit of good fortune with some slipper hands. By the way, it was nice to see Dallas Product Clint Dempsey scoring that goal. Kudos to the development of Club Soccer in Dallas!!! |

I just wish Klose wouldn´t have scored. Now we are stuck with him. Funny how he got all that praise, from the coach, media, fans when he should have clearly scored at least two more. He´s a good passer and all and fits the system, but he needs to be way more efficient. Cacau would have probably scored 3 or 4 goals in that game.
Everything else was of course brilliant. I felt good as soon as I learned Löw wouldn´t play Trochowski (thank god, how could he even think about it??). Özil, Schweini, Müller, Khedira and Lahm were all very strong today, and I liked the overall strucure and organization very much. New Zealand just tied up the game with Slovakai with a crossed in header, perfectly placed low and into the far post at the 93:00 mark. Only 3 minutes of stoppage. What a goal. Group F has had all draws now in group play.
Upcoming: Portugal and Ivory Coast. Looking forward to seeing how Ronaldo performs.
