I dont know if this has been discusses, but
I'm new here so I dunno if this has been discuessed, but I just wanted to know what the general feeling about the Salim Stoudamire for Anthony Johnson rumors that have been floating around. Personally, I think it wouldnt be a bad idea. Stoudamire is young and has upside, while Johnson hasn't played well at all since being here and slows down the pace of the game whenever he is in.
Here is the quote from the Detroit News : "Keep an eye on this rumor: The Hawks eyeing Dallas' little-used point guard, Anthony Johnson, for unhappy Salim Stoudamire and throw-in Esteban Batista."

Welcome to the board, I hadn't heard this rumor. I don't know if Salim would be much of an upgrade, but I haven't seen him play enough to make a good enough asessment. I think Avery likes AJ2 for his D, so it would probably depend on Salim's D.

I agree on the defensive aspect, Avery has always been big on that. What I like about Stoudamire, as I said before, is his youth. Whereas Johnson is probably headed downwards in terms of production, Stoudamire is 23 I believe and has a bunch of upside. He could give us some more energy that Anthony Johnson seems to almost lack.

A veteran can adapt to a situation with very little playing time. A young guy probably wouldn't do as well. If Stoudamire is unhappy with his role in Atlanta, why would he be happy here?

I really like Stoudamire and he adds good shooting to this team. he is very young too and i think he will be a good player one day. So if it was AJ for him I would do it.

Probably because here, if he's just riding the pine, at least it's en route to a championship.

I don't see how he could do any worse. I do like a good shooter. I don't see how he makes much of a difference in general since AJ is about 10th on the roster now.
