There's no way in hell this is going to work. There's a reason the Ticket got him on their station instead of Scott Murray.

I think they ought to have the Hansen and Galloway show. It'd be good for a couple of laughs.

According to the story, that's the plan for now. One hour on Galloway's show until football season starts.
What an awful, AWFUL show that would be.

Yeah, read the story after I posted.
Back in the day when I listened to Galloway on WBAP, he'd periodically have Hansen on. It worked okay when Hansen was a guest, because Galloway sort of used an interview format. If he's on the show for an hour, though, I'm thinking that it could be a trainwreck. Both men think they are the most important man in the room, so the overtalking could get amusing.

I'm not the smartest man in America. I'm a fat, overrated, bald white guy, and you're just mad 'cause I'm getting all the funny lines.
Get the hell off my radio station!

He resigned Friday via a message he left on Ticket program director Jeff Catlin's voicemail.

I'd pay to hear that voicemail...maybe Gordo can do a reinactment.

I hate Hansen and of course he is going to try and put this back in the Ticket, like he was getting pushed out because of the Cowboys. geez, get over it Dale. Nobody liked you, mabey that is the reason you got the boot.

Rhyner said, and I'm paraphrasing, "the only thing this means is that the worst hour in the Ticket broadcast week is no more". Nobody else was that blount but it doesn't sound like he'll be missed very much.

The ONLY good thing about Dale Hansen is his annual "Thank God for Kids" on channel 8. But somehow he even seems to come across as an arrogant pig in that. He did win me over briefly a few years ago during his "Thank God for Kids" segment because he was talking about teachers and how backwards our society is to give such a ridiculous amount to athletes and then a much, much smaller sum to teachers. That lasted about 5 seconds then I went back to thinking he's a pig.

Ini my own estimation, Hansen went from a guy who sincerely meant that feature to a guy who traded on that feature. Understandably, it probably had a lot to do with his own personal life, and how it applied to his own kids.
These days he's just a leg man--preferably two legs--who whiles away his time losing thousands at poker (I've seen it) and holding a grudge against Barry Switzer like it's a trophy.

I can at least understand his grudge against Switzer, after all, the coach did embarrass Dale on his own show.
His hard on for Parcells is what makes him unlistenable in my book. Who is Parcells not to sit down with the great Dale Hanson? It's apparent to anybody who has been following saga that the root of his distain for the coach is the fact that he has little use for the local media. If that’s not enough, he has the audacity to muffle his assistants so now they can't go out for a beer with Hanson and leak information that would be detrimental to the team.
But instead of telling it like it is Hanson, tries to position himself as my advocate. If Bill doesn't talk to him, he reasons, how will I know what the Cowboy coach is thinking. Never mind the fact that his daily press conference is carried live on two local stations and archived on the Cowboys website. I used to value Hanson’s opinions but they’ve become so predictable that they're now worthless.

This guy has to be the whiniest most annoying guy ever.
Galloway and Hansen together are comedy gold though. Galloway busts his chops every chance he gets.

Yes, if by "fan" you mean people who wish he would die penniless in a puddle of his own piss.

I guess I'm a fan of Hansen, in the same way that Doc is a fan of Baylor football, and Dooby of SMU football. They have seen better days, and you know that now they suck worse than anyone has ever sucked before...but they're what you know, you know?
I watched Dale daily for about ten straight years in my youth. Whenever I've felt the need to tune in the local sports since then, I've watched him. I've listened to him on the radio for several years now. He sucks, and I know he sucks, but in the end you dance with the one who brung you...you know?
