Always going with Barnes. Same result.

Same. Season is over anyway. Give Dirk something. And i would trust him more than Barnes atm tbh.

If you're playing to win the game, might as well give Dirk the last shot. Generally not very confident in Barnes in those situations.

I don't mind that as much. He was able to get off a clean look. He just missed it.

Getting stops, but taking too many bad shots to capitalize.

They keep giving Kyrie the baseline on those backdowns and he goes baseline everytime. Help is late everytime.

I feel like DSJ has been way better than Barea in this game honestly even with his shooting woes.

Kyrie on the post against Yogi who cant defend him and no help.
And Rick stays with him over DSJ or even Devin... I don't get it.

Really not thrilled with the min distribution tonight, glad we lost but Dirk playing 32, Barnes 40, Wes 43, Yogi 37, JJ 27, and DSJ only has 26. Powell 23 mins ffs.... Ugh.

@IsaacHarrisNBA: Feels like Rick has opened up 10 post game pressers this year being asked “why x player didn’t play”

Good fight from the vets, showing the kids how it's done.

I don't think this is a good loss. A win here or there is not going to change their chances at a top pick enough to matter. Still have to hit that lottery ball. They need to win one of these every once in awhile for morale.

DSJ looks exhausted every time he leaves the court. I'm not sure he should be pushed any harder than 25 minutes.

I feel the same way and I think beating a team on a 16 game streak would have been the perfect game. They had them in position, but couldn't finish the job.

But if you're looking for a morale-booster, a win over Boston >>>> Milwaukee.

He was taken out with a ton of time left in the game and didn't check back in till the game was over and there was 30 seconds left in OT. I'm not saying play him 12 straight mins but give him a breather and put him back in. Just felt like RC really wanted to win this because it's boston and he rode the hands he trusted... he rode them about 10-14mins straight it looked like.

IN a nutshell why I don’t want Rick for a legit rebuild. The second he sees an opening for a win, he rolls with the vets and watch them gas in OT. Let DSJ see what he can do. We won’t know until he gets his chance. Min distribution was whack all around.

I don't think it's overreacting. I go back and forth with Rick myself. I think he's one of the best coaches in the NBA but I do wonder if he is the right guy for a rebuild. To be fair though I think he and the FO are on the same page, do what it takes to win as many games as you can and let the chips fall after. And his offense is really starting to kill me. He may make minor adjustments but I despise having DSJ dribble the ball across half court and watch him pass it to Yogi or JJ depending on who is in the game, run down and set a screen for Barnes then curl around to the weak side to either spot up or get the ball back and give it to Wes who is either posting up or running a curl to the top of the key after setting his own screen. It's awful to watch. I still think he has looked best when we have been out of the game and he's been allowed to freelance his own offense. Just wish Rick would call less plays from the side, call some to make sure everyone is getting involved, but he's calling too many IMO.

To expound upon this I think its imperative that DSJ be in to close tight games, especially against the best team in the league. A game like this is as close as DSJ is going to get to a "playoff atmosphere" for maybe a few years. Something was actually on the line-- the Celtics long winning streak. Rick is a great coach in many ways but there is a stubbornness or tone deafness to his approach that is often hard to fathom.

Dirk could be 60 with two broken legs and I'd want him taking the last shot over Barnes.
After a slow first 4 games, Dirk is shooting about 49% from the floor and around 36-37% from 3. I'd like to see him get more touches, but that would probably result in more wins which wouldn't necessarily be the best thing for this team.

Absolutely this. That is how you lose. After 2 turnovers, DJS takes the ball down the court, I feel a bit better, it then ends up in Yogis hands with Dirk setting soft screens and not holding position against the smaller defender. Same struggle to get the ball to a spot where there is some type of security and stability...then Dirk gets ripped by Kyrie. How to lose 101.
