Hey Showbe,
Why can't you admit Ruben Patterson dominates you every single time you guys go head-to-head? Hell, Ruben kicks your ass even though you you're in bed with the refs.

Check out these numbers from last weekend's Blazers win over the Lakers.

Kobe Bryant: 11-26FG, 28 points, 5 rebounds in 43 minutes
Ruben Patterson: 9-11FG, 22 points, 8 rebounds (6 offensive) in 27 minutes

The most impressive stat of the game was this: Kobe only scored 5 points when being guarded by Patterson.

Read this excerpt from the recap:

Ruben Patterson came off the bench to collect 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting in just 27 minutes for Portland. He also contributed at the defensive end by guarding Bryant.

"Ever since training camp and practice, he's been arrogant," Patterson said of Bryant. "I just try to play physical with him. I can tell he was (frustrated). You know Kobe, he talks a lot."

When Patterson was on the floor at the same time as Bryant, the Lakers' All-Star guard was held to just five points.

"If we bumped into each other in the gym, we're playing one-on-one and I will demolish him," Bryant said. "But playing 5-on-5, that's a different mind set. ... He likes getting up to play me."

Kobe, last time I checked this was a 5-on-5 game...maybe you could beat him one-on-one (I doubt it) but that's irrelevant....you are a great player, but can't your arrogant ass admit for once you were outplayed???

Arrogant SOB that will beat anyone you put in front of him not named Shaq. As a matter of fact I think he could spot anyone 5 and still beat them 1 on 1. Sure this game is not about 1 on 1, but to say a scrubb owns Kobe, get real.

yeah joejoe....kobe needs to take 15 more shots than patterson to score 6 more points...if you'd actually take the time and read my post you'd know who the real scrubb is

Ok- here we go again. I thought you would have learned the first time I tried to tell you?? Hales233, I cant believe your still talking shit about KOBE?? What, are you that damn jealous of him or what is it? Please tell me? Who gives a rats-ass if Patterson had a good game against him? I mean really? Patterson is lucky to even be in Kobe's presence, to be in the same room with him. Lets see, one of the greatest players in the game (2nd in my opinion), and as young as he is- PLEASE. When Kobe is done, there may be one or two players in the history of this game who played it as well..And you still talk shit about some guy named Ruben Patterson schooling him?? That is almost too damn funny to even comment on- ALMOST. But of course I will.

Game 7 of the NBA championship game, tied with 5 seconds on the clock, time to create a shot to win the world title, Kobe has the ball, ready to either hit a fade away jumper(which no one can defend), or put it on the floor and drive on someone to win it all..Wait- WAIT, Phil Jackson is calling timout! He is putting In Rubin Patterson to replace KOBE!! He wants Patterson to take the shot to win it all!!!! That is so damn hilarious im peeing my pants right now. So please, please stop talking about a player like Patterson in the same sentence as a player like Kobe.

And one final thought- when you say the word "KOBE", the whole world knows your talking about KOBE of the Lakers. thats the sign of a true superstar. Like Michael, Kareem, Wilt, Oscar, etc.... When you say the Name Ruben, the whole world thinks of a SANDWICH!!!!!!!!

Reeds,
I'm not even going to stoop to your level here because I realize you need mental help...All I will say is this:

My post was intended to show Kobe's arrogance and the fact that he should admit when he is outplayed....I said he's a great player so why are you getting so angry with me? Are you his agent or something?

no, but Maybe you should be Ruben the sandwich mans agent!

How many superstars have had nights where other players get the best of them??? IT DOES HAPPEN!! Even the great ones dont win every battle every night- so when Kobe has an off night- its not a HUGE story like you make it out to be- thats all im saying. I think you use to date the girl Kobe married, and your pissed at him...

Yea reeds I agree with everything there. Kobe is the 2nd best player in the game today and would demolish anyone put in front of him not named Shaq by atleast 5. That's going to 10, when he spotted you the 5 of you have. The guy is that good, and to put sorry ass Patterson in the same sentence with the go, goes without saying. Hales you need to rethink the whole time, Kobe has gotten the best of everyone at 1 particular time and so has a few guys to him. Kobe is 2nd to his teammate, you my friend is just a hater.

I disagree with Hales's constant slagging on Kobe, calling him arrogant(what baller isn't?) but Patterson does have Kobe's number, it's just one of those anomalies and it's happened more than once. I believe it was Jackson last year who made the quote that anyone who wants to stop Kobe in the playoffs needs Ruben Patterson on their team. Some players just seem to own other players even if they are much better than them otherwise. Jeff Mcginnis is no show stopper yet he seems to turn into Gary Payton everytime he plays against Nash.

I agree also- but with that being said, it shouldnt be such a big deal to write about. It happens to almost every player, but Hales makes a big deal out of it!! Thats all im saying...
