Awesome. I think we just became a really attractive option for free agents with these two signings.

We may very well look back on this day and declare this the day the franchise was saved. Think about what would have happened if we screwed this up? Not saying it's necessarily going to get us a championships, but we are going to get bad ass basketball for the next 4 years.

Funny how much of an effect the initials CP had on this deal if it goes through. One CP pulled him to us and the other CP virtually drove him to us.

Saying he's the best FA the Mavs have ever signed is about like saying Bruce Jenner is the hottest celebrity 60 something year old whatever the hell he/she is...

What I was getting at is that saying he's among the best centers in the NBA isn't really saying that much right now considering how bad a state the position is in right now. But obviously a tremendous signing.

Mavs source doubts 3-way SNT that would send Roy Hibbert to Clips happens. Indy working other deals. Mavs not motivated to help LA.

Ironically, we are the second rounder / undrafted team.
DeAndre
Parsons
Matthews
Maybe Lin.

Somebody I heard on ESPN radio was calling the Mavs "Team 3rd Wheel."
All 3 of those guys were in the shadow of two other players and come to Dallas looking for a little more.

I actually agree. We had momentum from our veteran players. We'd go on a run but our lack of interior defense and rebounding killed us. A Jordan-type would have put us over the top

The owner definitely doesnt know what he's doing. Giving the coach complete control of player personnel? They need a say but not complete control. Not to mention the mascot fiasco. Jesus.

I want us to snatch Jamal Crawford from them to be used right here. He can definitely be in the picture since the clippers failed. To not even go past 1st round with their superstar deandre.

Bill Simmons has been talking about their disfunction for a couple of seasons now.

Yeah right, paul is just as weak as brandon roy. Looks like the clippers are stuck with him. Best part is they traded shit loads of future picks and cap. No way other teams are going to trade with them. They'll be just be like the lakers right now. While hoping deandre can make free throws lol

Yeah not really smart, Chandsome...im pretty sure Dirk loves that your buddy screwed the entire franchise in one of his last years in the league.

I don't see a lot of harm in what he did and agree it's probably better in the long-term if he continues to connect with these guys. Jordan will most likely still be relevant when his contract comes up and might be the piece we need.
Tasteless? Yeah.... but don't think it is something that should keep Cuban from resigning him.

The problem is that rebuilding would probably have to be the strategy if Anderson becomes our starting SF. We most likely wouldn't attract any star quality FAs with Anderson. Our only hope if we don't resign Parsons is to hope two star players want to pair up to come to Dallas but that is very unlikely with Anderson, Barea, Matthews and a 38yo Dirk as our main selling points.
At this point I think Parsons is our best hope at luring a decent FA to Dallas.

There is absolutely no reason to post it on Instagram so the whole world can see it. He definitely had the intention to piss of mavs fans doing this cause he knows he's signing a contract with the Orlando Magic or Brooklyn Nets in the summer. Both desperate franchises with no intention of winning willing to give Max contracts to average at best players.
Goodbye Parsons. Thanks for proving me right that we should have kept Monta Ellis over you. I was right from the beginning on both mavs forum. Just admit guys I was right and you were wrong

After reading this, I have a feeling someone is going to offer Parsons more than the Mavs are willing to pay.
http://www.mavs.com/after-two-injury...r-free-agency/
“Certainly, he’s a young player in his prime with upside, but those are conversations that I think we’ll have at the right time,” Nelson said when asked about Parsons’ future in Dallas. “He’s been a big part of the fabric that we’ve built here. But again, it’s a question of how many dollars and injury status and things like that. So, I think we just need to sit down, get past an emotional moment and have those conversations in due process.
“It’s part of the discussions. You know, there are issues and there is a situation there. It’s not that it’s unmanageable, but it’s just that it affects things. … Again, we’ll have those conversations at the right time, but we’d certainly like to have Parsons continue his stint with the Mavericks. He’s a young player with upside, is getting better and works great in our system, so we’ll look forward to those conversations at the right time.”

I assume Orlando is going to try to offer the max first. They'll most likely offer a lot. The clippers might try to troll after deandre showing up in this. But the clips are screwed with paul being brittle.

Speaks volumes. At least its not an open and shut case with Cubes and Nelson. In the end, I think he re signs here, but theres going to be some give and take from both sides.

No hard feelings?! F' Parsons.
If that's how he feels behind closed doors? Well that's weak. But still his decision. But to broadcast it. Just totally tone deaf. Parsons may be "recruiter in chief" or whatever he fancies himself. But he doesn't speak for the Mavs organization or MFFL. We have a loudmouth petulant brat owner to do that quite capably, thank you.
Parsons probably fancies this the "classy" move when, in fact, it's quite the opposite. DeAndre Jordan set the Mavs franchise wayyyy back when he reneged. He screwed the team, organization and fans over. We lost FA out on other potential signings. We are paying both Wes and JJ more $(which you could lay more blame on our poor negotiating tactics for that, but still). We are still paying for it this FA upcoming and offseason. We wouldnt be needing a Center.
Our entire(proud, championship) franchise got trolled last year you haute couture high heel wearing douche. Know what else exudes "class" and character?
Actually standing for something! Standing for the franchise that way overpaid you a couple years ago and the fanbase thats has stuck by you
This strikes me as some sort of personal "branding" moment and simply self serving on Chandler's part. I've been a big supporter of the guy but this, along with injuries...I'd be tempted to tell him to get lost. Go rot in Brooklyn or on the Lakers and OWN social media, bruh. A future date with Dancing with the Stars no doubt awaits!

Well the Donnie quotes are quite interesting if you put them under a microscope. This is the first time I've really heard or seen the FO question things regarding keeping Parsons. The fact that he even mentions whether the dollars will add up might not definitely mean a max offer right away. The only way you keep Chandler is if you max him out, and he will leave otherwise. That seems to be almost indisputable.

Hypothetically..Would he take the pay cut if we get let's say Dwight Howard and Al Horford?

How???? Unless he's willing to take the vet min.
I've heard Orlando can offer two max deals so wouldn't surprise me if both Howard and Parsons end up there.

That'll pretty much ruin their plan to grow Vucevic. That guy is an up and coming center. Which is something they want to try to sell to Parsons. Plus Orlando is still sour toward Howard. No way they want to pay him again. We can't take this Parsons instagram picture like he's leaving. Mainly because Parsons knows deandre from before he pulled that move on us.

The people here don't like Monta. He's too "low BBIQ" for "top level" Mavs fans.

One thing no one noted in the article. Parsons speaks of his time here in the past tense. "I loved my time here.." He changes course later and talks about staying. Of course this could be indicative of shoddy journalism- it's earl k. Sneed- or a mis-quote.
Just found it interesting. That and the timing. Donnie sounds really unenthused about Parsons returning. And we get a weird Parsons instagram photo. Could be posturing from both sides. Could mean nothing at all. We shall see.

Put away the crack my friend, it's not good for ya. He was never that impressive. His efficiency has been about the same for half a decade now. He's just older, slower, a poor finisher and jacking up way too many shots from downtown at a horrible shooting percentage. He can't get to the rim that often anymore due to fading speed. And his defense is not existing.
His biggest problem though is that he believes he is better than he really is.
