Especially when he plays for team Germany, he loves to wrestle with the slow but physical international bigs. They try to hack and push im all the time and he absolutely loves it to foul them out with his awkward moves.
I do not like the original poster. It's obvious what he's doing and I'm sure he will be banned soon enough... BUT

I don't agree with what you saw. Dirk and the rest of the team shriveled up from that point on. They remained physical and we had no answer. There was no response to that uncalled flagrant foul. That doesn't fly with 85% of the players in the league. Dirk doesn't have to be a fighter but he does need to get up and brush it off and make some gestures as if he loves to get under people skin...something. That was the point of the game we needed Brand, Marion, Dirk, Dahntay on the floor. Dahntay is a scrapper and I think RC should have been aware of what game was being played.

Hm...Dirk was the top scorer in the 4th (on both teams).

You are right about the rest of the team.

Dirk 8pts
rest of the team 6pts
pathetic

Yea. Well, I'm not talking about scoring here. I'm talking about the intangibles, the attitude that you are not going to push us around and get away with it. Dirk is a scorer/offensive specialist, so he needs people that will have his back for the rest of it. As soon as that happened, I would have called a timeout and made the team very aware that they are trying to intimidate by physical play, and I would have gave the nod to Dahntay or Brand to ensure we stay tough.

I get that .. love it about Dirk. Don't you think he needs to tone it down a bit though? I mean, he's not fully healthy, obviously, and is getting up there in years. I think he should put less focus on initiating this stuff and more on ??? I don't really know what, his game is refined to perfection....

Many older players use older player advantages. I don't know if Nasty Dirk is something that should have been used in this game, on the road, at this point in the season. Am I wrong?

Re-evaluate. The interwebs are not about stroking your ego.

I took the rest of last night and this morning to really think it over and re-evaluate it. Nothing has changed. But 99% of this board feels the same way. Whatever your doing seems to be working.
