Jenkins ball handles were crap. Yeah, they didn't look bad against crummy competition in the preseason, but they are not good. Seth's handles are much, much better. Jenkins also shot the three rather poorly in that preseason which is a big no-no for Rick.
Plus, we had Felton on the roster then. Curry is replacing Felton and many of his minutes.

Apparently he gained 15 lbs this summer, so maybe he'll be playing more center? Obviously he still dominates above the rim, but can he bang with the bigs (especially WHEN Bogut gets injured)?

Powell is the big mystery on this team to me. Seems he could easily become the odd man out because he doesn't seem to fit Rick's system offensively as a PF and can get punished in the paint by bigger centers and PFs. I thought he had to become consistent with the 3 in order to get decent minutes as Dirk's backup but it seems that Barnes and Acy might be better suited in RC's system.
If Bogut and Mejri are healthy I'm not sure where Powell fits on this team and afraid he may become a situational/insurance 4/5.

Athletic, talented, and tall big men are a rare breed int he NBA. That's why you keep Powell no matter what.
I still see him mostly playing center if he gained 15 pounds which actually should work great with small ball lineups. Mavs are built to play with anyone which should bode well for a fun season. Plus, Bogut's minutes will be kept in check, so I don't see a huge minutes crunch between him, Bogut, and Mejri.

Acy hit 21 of 25 threes in practice. God, dude has that D. Stevenson vibe. Strong, physical defender. Shooting the three would bring his game to that next level

Mavs are going to beat teams up this season. The "soft" label should be a thing of the past.
Add in the fact that we have a bunch of three point shooters, and it should make for a fun season.

Wes Mat - Pitbull, Bogut - Pitbull, JA - Pitbull, Barnes - TBD still hope that RC can turn him into a pitbull.
Wonder if Bogut will re-sign here after this season. Hope he doesn't go back to GS if the salary cap goes up he could and they need a center.

Is it the 28th yet? I feel like this preseason has gone on longer than all of the offseason combined.
