Wes' contract isn't so bad anymore... He has an $18.6m player option next season (which he'll likely opt-in), then he's an unrestricted free agent in 2019. At worst his expiring contract could be decent trade bait next year, at best he could be a solid contributor to the right team.

If we were able to dump him it’d mean taking back an equally onerous contract with a sweetener thrown in for our trouble. I think they missed their window to sell during his hot spell last season
I'm sure Portland would gladly give up Turner for him but what sweeteners would/could we receive in return?

Thats still a ton of money with the current cap climate. So either a team ships out an equally bad contract of the same or longer length(as in rimrockers Evan Turner example)or they’re willing to pay a crap ton of luxury tax for Wes, which ain’t happening. So we either take back an Asik and Solomon Hill or Turner and get a modest tip like some super heavily protected future pick or a young guy as like Osman. I just doubt that he is all that tradeable- only a few teams Ben have cap space for next season.

Let’s get something straight. We just hit some terrible teams. OKC was predicted to be good, but they’ve been pretty awful.

We took the Celtics to OT. And OKC isn’t terrible. Not particularly good and mismatched parts but they had an off night.

Memphis without Conley is pretty bad though.

I was worried early in the year that Barnes and Dennis weren’t meshing but they seem to be playing better together. At least by the eye test

Agree, and that's damn important for our future.

I mean, we're 5-15 with 1/4 of the season played... That means we're on pace to go 22-60, which would have been good for the #2 pick last year (lottery balls aside).

Wake up people. Barnes 3ptr was what broke the levee. We are playoff bound. 8th seed and an upset of Golden State to pay them back for YEAAAARS ago! Never forget!

8th seed? Since that three pointer, we're 2-0.

I fully expect us to go 60-0 for the remainder of the season and end the season 65-15 as the first seed.

Well, I was thinking that Powell might miss a few games due to illness or injury. But either way, as long as he and Mess are back before the playoffs start we should make a run at our second title.
