Feel like we lost more than they won... Came out sloppy... third down penalties on defense cost us 14 points I believe. Just too much to overcome. And clocking it on first down with 50 seconds left when we were already in fg range really had me shaking my head.

They're young. Some was obviously coaching. Some was youth jitters. Improve and let Dak and Zeke come back with experience

Well... the bright side is... When we wake up tomorrow, our quarterback is not named Brock Osweiler.

I ain't even mad... We shouldn't even be here with a rookie QB and rookie RB, and we only lost because of a last-second field goal set up by a HoF QB.

Most of our offense is locked up through the next couple seasons, and we should be able to bolster our defense after we free up some cap space by shipping Romo to Denver (boy, did their fans/media do a 180 on the idea of trading for him after they missed the playoffs)... This team is only going to come back stronger and more experienced next season -- we're set up for the long haul right now.

I feel same way. Priority 1 is pass rush. Priority 2 is pass rush. I thought the rest of the defense played admirably for not having a consistent pass rush all year.

I hate the Patriots, I hate Tom Brady, hell, I even think Gisselle is the 2nd-hottest Victoria's Secret model from Brazil... But I'll be damned if you can come up with a strong enough argument to convince me that Brady isn't the best QB in NFL history.

Yeah I don't think Brady can be argued as less than the best ever. I hate basically everything Boston. And I think Gisselle is the most overrated non kardashian female. When Pats won and camera went to her she was too busy taking a selfie video of herself celebrating flipping her hair around. I'm prolly being too critical of her but since I alrdy don't like her she just comes off as super fake in that instance. Like in Brady's moment she's somehow making it about her.

That's enough Super Bowl talk... Surprised this hasn't already been posted.

Quote:
The Cowboys will listen to offers for Tony Romo, sources said, once owner Jerry Jones has his meeting with the Pro Bowl quarterback. Romo prefers to be moved to a contending team -- specifically, the Texans, Cardinals, Broncos or Chiefs. The Bills also have significant interest in Romo, team and league sources said, though they realize that it might be a tough sell. The Bills have not given up hope on retaining Tyrod Taylor on a lesser contract, too, though that might be wishful thinking on their part at this point.

Yeah, I would have enjoyed the game a lot more if either it was the Pats collapsing like a flan or if it was just any team other than the Pats.

Regarding Brady being the best ever, I don't personally agree but I can understand why people think that way. Most wins ever. Most playoff wins ever. Most super bowl appearances. Most super bowl wins. Incredible resume - no doubt. That said, I think he plays for the best coach in the NFL by leaps and bounds and has the best system around him by leaps and bounds. He's also been SO, SO lucky. Atlanta's EPIC choke (like, EPIC in terms of it maybe being the biggest choke job in the history of sports - ever), the tuck, Adam Vinatieri basically carrying his ass to greatness time after time, hell - even this year Baltimore should've beaten them if they didn't choke (err, Flacco didn't choke).

I think Marino, Elway, Favre, Rodgers, Young, Montana, etc could've accomplished more than Brady has over his career with the same talent. Also, this growing stance that he's done this without supreme WR talent - let's not act like it's all WR talent that helps a QB. Brady has had tremendous TEAMS that he's had the luxury of playing on. Plus, just because you're white and small doesn't mean you're not good. Truth is, maybe they've been giving a blue print all along on how to win with a pass-heavy offense but with money to spend elsewhere (quick smaller WRs with good hands that all command significantly smaller coin to team together for a very good WR corps but without that top-10 salary guy at his position). Let's not forget how much Beasley helped us this year.

Anyway, I just want to ask you one question regarding Brady and the talent around him and the system around him. What other team could lose their starting QB and go 14-6 overall (11-5 when the stud that is Cassell took over and 3-1 this year with studs like Brissett/Garoppolo)? Also, you look at a Super Bowl win like last night and you immediately think PRAISE TOM and man did he play good. But it should've all been in a loss with his SB record moving to 3-3 given how Atlanta choked it away. I mean REALLY?!? On the 20 yard line with 5 minutes to play and you don't even end up getting to ATTEMPT a FG to ice the game?

He's a top 10 QB. But I think there are many other QBs with more talent that never had the fortune he's had. That's not his fault - not at all, but still how I feel. Just ask yourself this question. Do you consider Yogi Berra the greatest baseball player of all time? Bill Russell the greatest NBA player? No to both from me - they were just very fortunate to have amazing talent around them for a very long time and won a lot because of it. Tom is no different to me. Supremely talented. Future HOFer for sure. Records likely never to be broken in this league of parity. That said, he's a cheater, incredibly lucky and will never be the GOAT to me for the reasons outlined above.

I don't knock Brady for being in a system suited for him. I don't knock Montana for being suited for a West coast offense. And even though the Pats don't run a West coast offense(they do but they don't) I view him as a West coast QB. In terms of just sheer arm talent he's not a top 5 qb. But he is who he is, Patriots have a system he is perfect for and to me those other qb's who stepped in were also better suited for the offense NE ran.

They run a system that's modified from it's original form, the EP system. I'm not 100% positive but I believe they(and by they I mean Weis and Bellicheck) took elements from the west coast play style, something suited for Brady's arm but not his legs, and incorporated it into the original EP system when the NFL started catering the rules to favor offenses and passing in particular. I believe the Cowboys ran the original EP system with Parcells(Bellicheck's mentor) which is a run first play action system. The Pats turned it into a short pass west coast type system but it still retains a lot of elements from the original, I believe the language is entirely different from west coast for instance but not sure. So I give a lot of credit to them for creating this system, it's tailor made for Brady's tools and it's extremely friendly to skill positions as long as you have a qb who makes the right reads and is accurate. I don't fault Brady though for their continued success without him when he's been hurt or suspended. They created this modified version of the offense, so they know what qb's have the right tools to be successful in it.

I think he's the best, I don't think it's much of an argument otherwise. I think it's definitely debatable if other qb's had been placed in a better system suited for them what their success could be like. Gannon was an underwhelming qb until he won a super bowl with the raiders. To my knowledge it was his only time in a west coast offense, and it's the most common example people usually use to say the West coast offense qb's are overrated. So what would Rich Gannon have done if his whole career was in a west coast offense? It's also not really talked about but the Packers offense is a west coast offense. They have one of the best all time qb's in terms of arm talent ever in Rogers. But he's running a system tailor made for him as well since it's a true west coast offense and he's got the mobility to thrive in it and an arm way better than necessary in it as well. And at times he looks unbeatable, and at times he looks incredibly average. He's also had numerous ex teammates say he was basically a guy who was supremely arrogant and rubbed ppl the wrong way. So maybe it's the intangibles that elevate Brady beyond the system, coach, etc... but I just say he has "it" cuz honestly idk and I hate the patriots.

Sources: Tony Romo heading into broadcasting
Quote:
Dallas is expected to designate Romo as a post-June 1 release, softening the blow against the Cowboys' cap this season. Instead of counting $24.7 million in 2017, Romo would count $10.7 million this year and $8.9 million in 2018. The Cowboys would gain $14 million in cap space, but it would not become available until June 2.
@AdamSchefter: Tony Romo is leaving football and going into broadcasting, even with Dallas planning to release him today, sources tell @toddarcher and me.

@AdamSchefter: One NFL exec texted now: "Romo is now every teams emergency backup qb in case your starter gets hurt, pay him to come out of "retirement.' "

@SlaterNFL: Source: Tony Romo is "retiring" from football to pursue broadcasting, BUT if Cowboys ever REALLY needed him, he'd consider coming back.
