Someone did mention that the media said Mavs wouldn't trade KP, so there is that, but the main issue is the asking price of players. And with so many teams locked into the play-in right now, it's impossible to get any sort of bargain deal.
Getting Wood and Maxi back will be huge, but we gotta get Luka some help at the guard position. We all see what the team is like with and without him.
Feel like going back to THJ for Levert makes some sense. Gotta get rid of THJ before he declines to the point where you can't move him.

Thanks.
Not surprising. We will really hit the ground running this offseason when we free up all the frps. :/

So same old same old....pick up anything that gets waived, nothing that would affect his bottom line.
The West is so mediocre that a solid trade/extending Wood can get you back to the WCF. I cannot believe he would legit not take advantage of this moment.

To me the worst part is not even getting a new player here. It's by far that THJ and Powell will still be Mavs.

Shams Charania: Breaking: Brooklyn Nets All-Star Kyrie Irving has requested a trade, league sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium . The franchise has been informed that Irving prefers to move on ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline ? or will leave in free agency in July. ? via Twitter ShamsCharania

Not taking advantage of Powell?s expiring should be a crime.

We ARE going to take advantage of it. By signing him to another long term deal. In 5 years he will replace Nico as GM.

Problem is Kyrie can walk this summer. What could you offer that would negate that?

I'm just putting it out there what I think Cuban might think and why I don't think Kyrie would ever happen.
He pointed to what was called an antisemetic movie and got suspended 5 games. Cuban is also Jewish.

Marc Stein says Lakers and Mavs to engage in trade talks for him. Amazing how one trade request can rock the league .

I don't think we can add 1rp until off season. I think our FO is dumb, but are they that dumb?

Shams also reporting Mavs, Lakers, and Suns interested.
So this isn't some made up thing for those who are skeptical around here. Shams and Stein reporting this.

I wouldn't mind even being a 3rd team and get Ayton, if that's possible.

Or maybe get back Curry from the Nets. Lots of ways we could get in on it.

A home run at the trade deadline would be great (trade bringing an all-star caliber player to the Mavs) but it would not take much to improve the overall roster and that should be the minimum goal.
I can almost hear the MBT now "Sometimes the best move is to make no move at all. There were no trades available that would move the needle so we stayed pat. We are currently fourth in the West and that is with key players being injured. Once everyone is healthy, we anticipate finishing in the top four in the West and competing for a Championship. Besides, we like our team (we've got some cool dudes)!".

Well the Mavs jumping on the Kyrie things tells me they don't have shit worth of backup moves right now.
But considering the West is trash outside of 2-3 teams, you have to go for it now. The fact that we are in 4th place with how bad our team is outside Luka is nothing short of a miracle. ANY improvement is good improvement.

Mavs talking with Nets about a Kyrie Irving trade, give them Dodo and THJ. That would give us another consistent 20 point scorer. We would be a championship level team. Kyrie told Nets he is not re-signing with them. Nets need to get anything for him.
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2yxqwoy2
Luka/Hardy
Irving/Frank/Pinson
Spencer/Green
Bullock/Bertans
Wood/Maxi/Powell

That would be nice huh? Try Spence/Wood for Irving and you're closer...

Agree 100%.
Here are some hypotheticals just to to check the temperature of the group:
Would you be willing to include a future first round pick for Lavine? For Bojan? For Bamba? For Kyrie?
How about Hardy for any of the above?
How about Josh Green for any of the above?
How about Wood for any of the above?
Just curious.

Only way I do that is if Kyrie signs an extension with us now. If Kyrie were to walk and we lost Spence and Wood and don't get anyone in free agency we'll lose Luka down the road.

I would include one or two future 1sts for Lavine or Kyrie if Kyrie signs an extension with us. I would not include Green because we are trying to win now and Green helps us win now.

Honestly makes me sick to think about because Luka is not built for a constant grind to do it all for the full season?and the Mavs would be saying yes we?re content with Luka getting banged up all season to keep us in the top 6?

That?s a classic Cuban deal I could see happening.

Shiii. Ain't no way. I want a better team, but that ain't it.
They have no leverage. He wants out and isn't re-signing with them no matter what. He's a 40 game rental if he stays healthy. At best he is half of his normal value right now.

Lavine ia the only one Im entertaining giving up Josh for. I think hes about to uncork. If not this season he will by next season.
I'm not including Wood for anyone aside from maybe Lavine either.
Idc too much about the picks unless you start piling them on.

I'd be hesitant to include Wood because we need a talented big man. If they want Din/DFS, then I'd probably do it.
