Then yes. I roll the dice. I'm not crazy about Dinwiddie's role here and DFS is overrated.

If they want a bunch of firsts too, then that would be hard to fathom.

SD+DFS and two FRPs is drastically overpaying for Kyrie

Dude wants out and it an expiring deal. If they don?t trade him, he pouts for the season and then walks for nothing as a UFA (albeit one with full Bird). The only thing we?d have to beat is other teams and no one wants to drive up the score for the Kanye of basketball.

If he wants to be here with an extension I?d do anyone not named Luka and Green. I would balk at 1 FRP though and would laugh at 2+

This the exact type of trade Cuban would do. He only wants big fish easy and refuses to build a team.

I?m not for it because there?s zero chance you?re getting Kyrie to commit long term. And even then he wants 50m for 4 years. Summer would be a disaster when he walks

Seems like rumors are all over the place with Kyrie. It seems like if we'd give Brooklyn DFS and Spence it'd be a done deal but hesitation is our our part (for good reason) I'm pretty hard on the MBT but I would not fault them if this trade didn't get done.

They have to be feeling pressure to move him somewhere though.

I only care about them because they're a competitor in the West. I don't want them to get better.

They don't have a chance to get Kyrie and keep PG and KL.

We don't have a chance in the playoffs barring roster moves or a miracle, so I'll get over whoever we lost to pretty quickly.

The risk of losing Luka would increase dramatically if we were to acquire Kyrie imo.

I want no part of Kyrie on this team.

Again, 3 players I never want to see in a Mavs uniform are Harden, Westbrook and Irving.

But yeah I?m with you. Harden and Kyrie have horrible personalities.

More than that, though, they?re offense guys. Mavs already have a top-10 offense.

The real issue with this team is that we?re 24th in defense and 30th in rebounding. Harden and/or Kyrie would make the defense/rebounding worse even if we just added them to the team, and likely we?d also need to dump guys like Dodo and Green to get them making us even worse.

I have my doubts we'll make any moves, but we got about 4 days .

I didn't think the Mavs would bite but from Nets perspective I said if we give them Spence and DFS it'll be done you can scroll up. I can't fathom we threw in pics as well without an extension. That would be all time dumb.

Well the extension is a question mark. We better have Kyrie and Wood on our roster starting next season, or at least a good replacement for Wood.

Mavericks GM Nico Harrison has a long history with Irving going back to their Nike days together - and Jason Kidd wanted this trade. Dallas needed a second star for Luka Doncic and gets him with Irving. Mavs can see how it goes and decide on new deal in offseason.

I think from a fan perspective, you do this trade 100 times out of 100. Everyone was noticing how Luka had no help and the MBT weren't doing much for several years now.

And who knows him and Luka may get along fine. And if not, just trade his ass.

Full bird rights makes this a much easier pill to swallow.

I agree. I'm not crazy about it or that optimistic it will work. But the Mavs' situation is desperate enough that they had to swing for the fences.
