Clips to Gifs

Does anyone here have the capability to transfer a video clip into a gif?

I have several Dirk dunks that I would love to be copied into a smaller format.

there are animated gif compilers. I think you have to take the screenshots and turn them into an animated gif. I don't know of any program that will turn a movie into a .gif

There are AVI to Gif editors. Here is one that I am familiar with from work. Good luck.
