Phoenix releases veteran swingman Jim Jackson
Ha!
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns waived well-traveled swingman Jim Jackson on Wednesday.
Last season, Jackson averaged 8.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 24.9 minutes a game. The Suns acquired him from New Orleans for Casey Jacobsen, Maciej Lampe and Jackson Vroman.
Jackson also brought a veteran presence to a young but talented team that won a league-high 62 games and reached the conference finals, where it lost to eventual NBA champion San Antonio.
His minutes were cut drastically this year when the club added James Jones and Eddie House, who are averaging a combined 20.6 points and 42.9 minutes. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Jackson played in 27 games this year, averaging 3.7 points and 2.4 rebounds in 15.6 minutes. His last appearance was Jan. 4 against Philadelphia.
Jackson has played for 11 teams in 14 years. He was picked fourth overall by Dallas in the 1992 NBA draft, after Shaquille O'Neal, Alonzo Mourning and Christian Laettner.

I feel obligated to post this. Cue the music.
Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

Funny. I wish this would've happened a year ago.

Maybe so, but I think Houston would do very well do pick up Thomas. Juwan doesn't really cut it as a starting 4 these days, and lord knows he brings more to the table than Stromile effing Swift.

It's too bad we didn't have room for him as it'd be nice to see him retire in a Mav's uni.

The Knicks don't have enough guards, they'll pick up JJ and TT to strengthen their swingman position.

Hahaha...I know you're joking and it's downright sad but I wouldn't be surprised if they did pick one of these guys up.

Tim Thomas with 14 thru 3 in his Sun debut. If you can stick the 3, Nash will make you better than you really are.

Not always true...then again, Dirk's a mighty big exception.
