Realistic trades for Camby
Ok, I've seen speculation that Camby may be available as the Clips continue to suck, though it's worth noting that Camby is an expiring himself, so I don't see the Clips taking back a bunch of garbage--or any long-term commitments--just to unload him.
I've come up with one that I think works pretty well.
Gooden + Humphries
for
Camby
I believe this works dollar-wise, after December 15th when Gooden can be traded. The Clips can immediately waive Gooden and save a nice chunk of money, and get back a nice young player in Humphries who's not terribly expensive--and is expiring, if they want to use him in another deal or let him come off their cap number at the end of the season. If this happens roughly halfway through the season, this reduces the Clippers' obligations from $4.6MM to Camby, to only $1.45MM to Humphries for the balance of the season--a significant savings, which Cuban can always sweeten with a little cash as well.
It's obvious why the Mavs do this one--Dampier & Camby instantly becomes the best defensive 1-2 punch at C in the league, and Camby's ability to play some 4 as well means there would be enough minutes to go around. Gooden thus far has looked completely useless, and while Hump looks like he's got some nice upside, the acquisition of Camby renders him rather obsolete, at least for this season, especially since he's buried behind Dirk on the depth chart.
Thoughts?

It's all about the money for the Clips. I read elsewhere that Camby might be moved, this isn't just me making up a Lebron-for-Barea trade like half the crap on this board.....

Makes good sense to me, bobatundi. For both teams.

Except they don't because Camby is an expiring already, and they have to pay Humphries another year, and buy out Gooden.
It is more ideal for Dallas than them, IMO.

This is more realistic, IMO:
Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Dallas, L.A. Clippers, and Golden State being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Dallas, L.A. Clippers, and Golden State had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Can't be done till Dec 15th, but here is why each of them might consider this.
GS: They get that dynamic PG that Nellie craves, as well as get rid of SJax. They have to take Carroll, but he is a shooter, and his contract goes down, not up.
LAC: They get a younger big in Brandan Wright who becomes there #3 Big with Kaman and Griffin. They also get a good SG/SF type that was good friends with BDiddy. They didn't give Law and ext, and Camby is expiring, so they are not in a world of hurt, and gain some talent.
Dal: They get a bigger backup PG who won't destroy the development of Roddy, but can still be a good backup PG for Kidd. They get Camby for his defensive presence, but he can also score a little, and Dallas takes a flyer on Jordan as the #3 Big, so we options with the Dust Chip then.
Roles get more defined and longer, but still just as versatile.
Kidd, Law, Roddy
Jho, Terry, Ross
Marion, Singleton,TThomas
Dirk, Humphries
Camby, Damp, Jordan
Very versatile, very deep.
