sorre, i already posted this in another thread, but here:
If you don't know already, I live here in Europe. And I know at least partly why he's struggling. I don't know if this has made any english paper, but after game three, Dirk was talking to a small paper in Germany, and this is what he said, translated from German which he spoke to the journalist.
"Dirk, what's wrong with you right now?"
Dirk- "First off, no excuses, I have played like shit, like shit! But, im not 100% right now."
"Is it the ankles or something else?"
"It's not so much the ankles, it's something else im not going to mention right now. BUT I WILL NOT PLAY LIKE THIS IN GAME 3, THAT I PROMISE!"

Dirk- do you have a link? If not this is hearsay and speculation. Not trying to piss you off or anything, but I'd like to see a link or a citation.

um, no it's not speculation because it was in a paper. Sorry, no link, this wasn't on the internet, as i said, it's in a small european paper in german over here.
Believe what you will. Do you believe the qoutes you see in your dallas paper? this is no different.

The Dallas papers use citations of sources. Of course not always..sometimes we get "anonymous source", but I believe a reputable, award-winning paper like the DMN before your manufactured quotes.

screw you! You think just because this is from a big paper, it's not true? LOL, this coming from a person whose paper-site dallasbasketball.com makes more errors then anyplace i have ever seen1 Note to little dallas writers who don't check their soucrces!
1. Wang made a 2 at the buzzer, not a 3
2. Dirk had 8 at halftime, not 4.
Your author's can't even get factual info.!

Don't let this start up again, let's stick to hoops. I do not buy the Dirk not a 100% thing, he has played like crap, period. I expect a big game from him in Game 4, and it will be big. When the Mavs get something out of him in anyone of these games, they will be fine.

What else could be wrong with Dirk?
Maybe it's his elbow.

Dirk will kick ass in Game 4. He isn't hurt, he isn't sick, etc. He just played poorly and couldn't of hit the ocean if he fell out of a boat. It will be better in game 4.

If Nash couldn't hit the ocean then nash must not have been able to hit the pacific ocean, b/c he shot way worse then Dirk at 5-19. Nellie and Dirk say's he's hurting, I'll take their word over yours!

This just in ...sorry about the translation....it comes from a small paper in the Swiss Alps.
Reporter: "Dirk, why you play shitty?"
Dirk: "where you from?"
Reporter: "The Alps Daily Piece"
Dirk:"That paper sucks."
oops...no link, but I swear it's true.

calm down Doc. Dirk could be hurt. I've been wondering about his knee. Could be something else, like Dirk77 said. Of course, he could just be sucking bigtime for reasons other than health problems.
Really don't care either way, so long as he returns in Game 4.

DTL- Dirk played poorly...that's all. He needs no excuses. The two posts about what Dirk said and the use of quotes to try and make people believe Dirk actually said it without a link or some kind of citation is just plain irresponsible conjecture. It's fabricated.

No need for that D77, just provide a link or scan it and put it on here. Of course do what you want, I for 1 don't buy it because if he did say it, it's just an excuse for his piss poor play.

My quote is real. As for Nellie saying Dirk's banged up, mabye that's not true. That's just what one of my friends who lives in dallas said that he said in the DMN. It's not bullshit!

Nash says Dirk was ill, but this could be just to get his good buddy off the hook for a poor game. Or, I think Nash actually knows that he is ill, but doesn't want to go into the details of the illness because Dirk doesn't want him to. Nor does Dirk want to himself. Maybe the illness is very personal, or maybe Dirk can't stand excuses. What do you think?
The following is quoted from Stein's article in today's (5/10/02) paper:
<< Nelson went on to suggest that the swarming affected Nowitzki's defense as well, as he did little to slow Chris Webber when given the opportunity. Teammate Steve Nash, suffering himself on a 5-for-19 shooting night, suggested that Nowitzki was feeling ill, but Nowitzki admits that the pep in his step so evident in the first round hasn't been visible even once against the Kings. >>

I don't buy the ill stuff, Dirk has just sucked the whole series and that will change SOON(tomorrow). He has not just sucked 1 game, but it has been every game in the series in my honest opinion.

I live in Eastern Wales, and I got this quote from Nick Van Exel out of a local newspaper in Syria, and since I understand Syrianese here it is translated:
"Nick, whats wrong with you right now"
"My spaceship has not yet docked in Sacarmento, soon as my friends beam me some power I will be ok"

Didn't know Wales was such a cosmopolitan place with newspapers from Syria so easily available. And wouldn't those papers be in Arabic?
Oh, and thanks for confirming my long-standing suspicion about whether I should alert MIB about NVE.

I was just reading some Aussie papers and catching up on some news.
Apparently the Mavs lost on Thursday, giving Sacramento a 2-1 lead in the best of 7 series. I will report extra information as it comes to hand.

Ummm guys,
Dirk77 didn´t react quite well, but the quote is for real (at least partial).
Here is a link to a german online sports site. They have a headline where it says something about the 100%. Here is another link. It´s an interview with Dirk after game 3 from the same source. He doesn´t really tell them what it is, but he does say that he´s not 100% fit. I noticed that before. Dirk seems to be a little more honest to german journalists sometimes. He sure doesn´t want to show any weaknesses right now that´s why he doesn´t give up such info to US reporters. But he knows that in the US there won´t be taken much note of things he says to german newspublications.

For what it's worth, here's how that part of the interview on that website came out when run through an online translator:
=============================================
Interviewer: That was not the Dirk Nowitzki that we became acquainted with in the last couples of weeks. Are in the moment top fit?
Dirk: Actually , I physically have no problems, but I do not feel 100 percent fit. I can not however explain that. I have not yet found my rhythm in the first three games.
=============================================
