how many games have we lost due to shooting 65% on FT?
mavs fans have been spoiled by having best players who are among the best at FT shooting going all the way back to Rolando Blackman, Nash, Dirk... Luka has been an anomaly in that regards though hopefully he improves.
late game FT shooting will be so much better

Mavs went from 0-7 without Luka to 3-0 without him
Now on pace to go 26-0

Mavs:
34 assists to 9 TO
won rebounding 39-38 - Mcgee with 9 in 19 minutes including 4 offensive rebounds
mavs as a team shot 48.9/41.9/94.7 % - that's getting it done!
Hardy a game high +15 in limited minutes

We have exploded the last 2 games in the first and the opponent has looked like trash in the first. Hopefully Luka is ready tomorrow cuz some of this is misleading with +20pt leads slowly going down and hanging on for the win.
I like that McGee seems to be playable now.

We are just playing beautiful basketball with Kyrie, but also the role players have stepped up since the Kyrie trade. He has truly energized the franchise, and it shows. The players actually believe in themselves and the potential of the team. Everyone is playing more freely knowing that they are one notch further down the totem pole.
I really can?t remember enjoying Mavs basketball this much since the Nash era.

We are playing fast and it just looks better for these guys. Luka is going to have to adjust and play faster. He can still take spots and slow it down and in the playoffs there is a lot more half court offense for both Luka and Kyrie but the "others" all look ready to run.

Not gonna lie, I have the fan-boner for Josh right now. Looks like a COMPLETELY different player. Hardy obviously still has to earn the trust of Kidd and co., but he is getting there. Also, it's only been two games, but Kyrie's defense is actually decent so far, he moves his feet well.

Well it's almost unimaginable that we don't win these games without Hardy's production. We all knew Josh Green was on the up and up, but Hardy became an NBA player seemingly overnight. The lost kid who could score in bunches is now playing defense and passing. Watch out.

Idk what Kyle Lowry did with Josh Green, but the decision to work with him this past offseason has helped make a major difference. He has uncorked. I wasn't down for trading Hardy or Josh and this is why. Too much damn potential.
McGee coming to life lately is huge.

I never really understood why McGee didn't get minutes. Even in limited minutes, we need his size and d. Makes getting someone like Noel moot if he keeps playing like this.

Regardless of what happens with Kyrie after the season, this trade may have been good for Luka moving forward. Luka got used to carrying the burden and the role players got used to deferring to him. Having another superstar play off ball and push the pace is eye opening. We needed the easy baskets that Kyrie is generating but more importantly we needed to learn the role players can flourish when they?re touching the ball more and running.

After blowing 22pt lead to six, we would have lost if Kyrie wasn?t 8-8 on FTs
We?ve seen a lot of games where we miss 4-6 FTs and the game gets to 4-5 and teams make crazy threes. Instead we made all our FTs and even got a stop.

I think it's more than just a superstar though. Kyrie brings a strong veteran presence. Team obviously needed that in a bad way. The fact that Kyrie let Hardy run point next to him almost makes you teary-eyed. Like, the off court Kyrie and on court Kyrie couldn't be further apart.

Under rated aspect thus far is that Kyrie has blind faith in Hardy and Josh. Letting them initiate and cook while playing off ball is big for their confidence.
Luka being able to sit and watch a few games of this and us having success doing it is something definitelygoing to pick up on. He's such high IQ that I'm sure he already knows how he wants to insert himself into the mix

Well the role players can no longer skirt by relying on Luka. The trade lit a fire under their butts knowing they could be next.
I mean, Powell has suddenly come to life. Why were all of these guys so unmotivated? Has to be a combo of Kidd's coaching style and Luka not yet being a vet leader. We need more accountability, and I actually think the non stars want that. They want more responsibility. Just look at these last three games.

I think it did light a fire, but the biggest factor is Hardy and Josh's emergence the very second they were needed and got the opportunity. DP and Bullock coming around has been much needed too.
Kyries vet presence that I see so far is how he has worked within the offense, only pushing the issue or forcing plays when necessary to stop opposing runs or ahen thr shot clock is running doen. He has a poker face through adversity too, that has to help the younger guys. I hope it's infectious to Luka.

I think McGee staying motivated will be the biggest upgrade because that dude looks like a legit rim protector and rebounder they needed.
If he can sustain that for 12-14 Minutes per game the rest of the way this teams ceiling is higher
I also like that with Kyrie they are sharing the ball big time
Hopefully when Luka comesback they continue that ball movement as a team and the pace stays up

It was pain to try and watch late games earlier in the season, and now I wouldn't miss this for anything.
