Nice to see Barea doing well. His three point shooting is what sticks out for me. He was absolutely terrible from the arc for the first two months of the season.

Yep.. the last few years, I even commented to people that I thought officiating was visibly better now than it was in the early-mid 2000s, by a long shot.
This year is still better than, say, 2003, but it's definitely taken a step back in my opinion.

JJ did the most work load, creating, scoring, Kidd played the wing spot, off the ball late in the game. I think he should be fine in this back to back set.
Den and GSW played a tight game last night, Afflalo and Lawson played the most minutes at about 35-36, Melo logged 32 minutes. Billups was out and is day to day.

One of the things I noticed was how close the Sac defenders were sticking to our off the ball guys....Kidd, Jet, Dirk, created so much room for Barea to drive a hummer through. Even an integrating Peja out there, just the threat, keeps his defender on him, thus opening up driving pastures....I'm sure Boobs is licking his chops. Even on that half time buzzer beater by the Custodian, Kidd penetrated, because Peja's man would not leave him until Kidd got by, Cardinal's defender went to help on Kidd in the paint, boom, wide open. When you have homerun threats, it's going to open much more great looks.

Well the team is stock full of shooters now, especially from the three. There is no excuse for the team 3 point percentage to be low. We're 9th in the league at this point which isn't too shabby.

He's had short stretches in the past where he's played this well, but he's really never played this well for this long before. This is definitely the best Barea we've ever seen. You've got to give the guy a lot of credit.
He's so good right now I don't worry at all when Kidd goes out of the game.

True dat!
JJB was primarily a scorer in college and when leading the Puerto Rican national team. As often happens, he came into the NBA blazing. Them teams learned how to defend him, and his play suffered. This year, it seems he has learned how to get off his shot, when to shoot, and how not to dribble his way into spots under the basket where a block is inevitable.
As a long time JJB hater, I must give him props for continuing to grow and develop his game. I think he has to continue to try to be a scorer, because that is what he is. When he goes to the hole intending to score, he forces defenses to collapse on him and opens up everyone else. Its when he's tentative that he sucks.
As long as he plays within himself and shoots at a decent percentage, I'll have to hate less and cheer more. And that;s a good thing

One thing JJB isn't given enough credit for and that is being really tough. I cringe thinking of what will happen if roddy gets as roughed up inside.

He's improved a lot this season. I've never exactly thought that he would ever become good enough to be one of our best bench players, but is he continues to play this way he could actually become an important piece of our mystical championship run.
Time for a JJB appreciation thread yet?
