JB 25mil at this point. Lol
Kleber is damn near shocking.
Kidd playing Green no matter what this season paid off. He was big for us when JB went down. Hit a cpl 3s ans had 6 assists and a big steal. That's why you gotta play these kids. You never know when you're gonna need em and you need them to be comfortable

It's so much more than that too. The entire team is going balls to the wall the entire game. Shove it down their throats. Every play.

Kidd deserves mad props for this. They all bought in. Bringing in Reggie was huge too. He and Dodo are a tough ass wing combo.

If Green continues to improve that could become one hell of a trio.

Yes indeed! Even more reason to move THJ. Green deserves minutes. Green is already pretty adept at guarding 1-4, like Doe. Bullock doesn’t quite have the quicks and swivel-y hips they do so he’s much more suited for checking 2s and 3s. But they all can mix and match on any possession.

Didn’t see game but box score tells a lot.
7 guys in double figures indicates great team effort.
Good to see Green And Bertans contribute well, and even Brown and Burke be efficient for little action.
Brown 2 pts in 0 mins???

Kidd subbed in reserves with less than 30 seconds and he got intentionally fouled for 2 FTs. Hit ‘em both

If you're not already familiar with Pandhank41's youtube recap videos, check it out!
it's most/all of the mavs highlights condensed with some nice additional stuff.
in the clip above he's got a pic of Dirk with 12 yo Maxi lol.
maybe mavs should start scouting their next player from Wurzberg to keep with tradition.

Brunson was stellar, but it was Kleber that swung the series in our favor.
Game 1 - Gobert had his way both defensively and on the boards. Jazz were +19 on the boards and even though our defense was stellar (and almost pulled a win despite a freak three from ONeal), Jazz just had so many more shots. Brunson was frustrated with the interior defense and we just struggled to get anything
Game 2 - Jazz came in with the same game plan but Kidd kept feeding Kleber who was wide open because Gobert struggles to move outside the paint. Gobert stayed inside and they were also +19 on the boards, but the threes kept falling and we won.
Game 3 - Kidd kept the same game plan and Kleber kept hitting. Gobert tried to get out, but when he did, the paint was open and we got some of our first layups of the series and Gobert wasn't able to bully us in the paint. We won the rebounding battle with Gobert trying to get out to shooters.
Kleber's ability to even threaten a three changed the momentum of the series.

Bertans has helped with that too. Dunno why so many fans give him grief. I've never seen him out of position (at least not usually) or not give good effort. He is just limited in his game. He seems to have good energy though.
Having a 6'11 and 6'10 guy drain threes isn't just a luxury...it's a game changer.

Agree with this. Didn’t he have a chase down block too?

yes he did! he's done that a couple times - not quick or strong enough to be a great defender but it doesn't mean he doesn't have any athleticism.
He's tall and has a really quick release - hard to defend esp if it's a little guy closing out (like conley)
I like how Bertans and Green seem to have a bit of a connection - can see them looking for each other and that there's some level of comfort playing with each other.

I’m wondering if they will have the same impact when Luka returns.
Luka and Powell have great chemistry so Powell will Be more involved as our big.
Probably a good situation for Kidd though because he’ll have more options.

The other thing about Green (Luka) is he’s a plus rebounder and playmaker with room to improve. So you can go Maxi, Luka, Dodo, Bullock, Green. Good spacing with Green as secondary playmaker and super switchable.

Yeah, you have a tremendous defensive lineup with decent size playing with the best player in the league. Dodo and Green have the ability to stay with any PG/SG in the league and Bullock with most SFs.
If Green ever becomes a serious outside threat, our 1-4 could become the best balanced in the league.
I'd still like to get another big....basically a better/younger version of Powell with the ability to stretch the floor.
I do love Kidd's philosophy though of making teams matchup against us instead of the way it was with Rick. So far it seems to be working.

It feels especially exciting because the playoffs in the last couple of years have been weird and Covid-y. They finally feel normal again, and the Mavs have that intensity we haven't seen in a while.

It's understandable to be upset, but lots of reasons to be optimistic.
1) It's now a best of three
2) We still have HCA
3) We won in Utah
4) We have Luka back and he looked pretty good until they made their adjustments in the 4th and Kidd can make adjustments now that he knows what they are running
5) Both losses we nearly won. Game 1 we got it to 1pt and they made a freak three. This game they had to get ref help on the and-one, two missed FTs, and a freak oop just to win and we even almost stole it back with the last possession.
6) We have Luka

That wasn't a freak oop.. I believe DFS botched the easy switch.
I think the and 1 foul called on LUKA was legit.
