This movie better be pretty good to justify changing Megatron into some robotic predator looking thing that doesn't transform into a gun, imo.

He reminds me of the elites from halo 2. Why did they need to change this?

Megatron? Did I mention megatron? Am I missing something?
This is an extra about the new movie on the "Transformers: The Movie" DVD. Good to see Spielberg have positive things to say, and I have to say that I am intrigued by that car footage and talk of transformations at high speed.
At this point, my expectations are low, so it may be a pleasant surprise.

Im not a big fan of his apparent disgust with "cartoony" its a darn cartoon to begin with...(I understand the tiring of CGI and all but this was a cartoon you know...)

oh, ok, you were quoting a previous post of mine, long long ago. i thought you meant that i had said something about him being in that video i just posted.
i saw a picture of him (thought it was linked in this thread). I'll see if i can find it.
as for the cartoon vs. real - i can see what he's saying. he wants it to be live-action. if you introduce cartoonish elements, it could become comical (itentional comedy would be ok, he doesn't want unintenetional comedy).

it wasn't a cyborg. It was part of the transformer itself. maybe an image or a branch of itself. gotta decoy who you're dealing with.
if you saw a helicopter flying in with no pilot, that would raise some red flags.
edited to add: this could be the biggest steaming pile of shit in the history of the movies... but i will be there, ticket in hand... that preview undid all the bad things i've seen so far.

I don't get the fascination with movies like this. As I child I loved playing with barbies, loved collecting stickers, and loved making mud pies. However, I surely wouldn't go see a movie about any of those, even if the special effects were amazing. Someone help me understand...

Did you see The Ya-ya Sisterhood, or the movie about the traveling pants, or Now and Then, or Pretty Woman, or The Lake house, or Sleepless in Seattle, or The Princess Bride, or...?( I could go on )
All those movies play on young girl's fantasies, so if you have seen any of those movies you do get the fascination, just for the movies aimed at you.
