I hate when WCs contest a shot at the rim and gets called a foul when he didn't initiate the contact

Kept WCS in the game. Pays off...whoulda thunk.
Granted, he has a tough assignment, but he is holding his own.

Love Burke. Always seems to get you a basket when you need it.

Terrible by Brunson trying to drive into two players like that. He knows better.

Powell couldn't get an offensive rebound if his life literally depended on it. And he is in position possession after possession...

James Johnson is better than Powell even at defending big's
I'd rather start him at C in small ball than start Powell that's how much I want a lineup change now.

These refs call everything even when they aren’t fouls.

If JJ can provide this type of offense on a consistent basis he should be the starter next to KP. That would be a nasty defensive starting lineup with plenty of offense if THJ goes to the bench.
Luka/JRich/DFS/JJ/Kp

You wonder why these guys refuse to drive when they make better shots as opposed to them jacking up 3's.
THJ needs to dial it back some and drive more that's when he's been more effective lately.

If I’m Miami I’d just fall down every time a defender comes near. They’ll blow the whistle. They called a foul on Burke earlier when he ran into the screener and then Dragic ran into Burke and they called a foul on Burke. Bizarre.

Dragic runs down the court veering into DFS out of control and they call a foul on DFS?
Really?

Glad the Mavs have started well otherwise.

It never hurt DFS that he played for the Mavs, so in comparison to almost everybody else on the team, he was a great defender. He's a nice piece, but he's limited, especially against guys with some more size.

Gotta give Powell some credit...7 rebounds.
Hurts me to do so but have to give credit where credit is due.

I like it because he's not forcing up 3's

Seriously Luka
I understand you didn't get the call but come on these ref's are growing tired of your constant complaining.
That ref wasn't going to give him a tech until he just refused to let up

These Refs are still drunk from New Years Eve.
I dont like Lukas complaining usually after every missed call but that one was outrageous. Cant keep a cool there.

whelp...
that first half defense of ours is going to bump up our defensive stats.
Holding the Heat to 25% shooting and 0% three point shooting (0-14).

That first half is the best D I've seen the Mavs play since I think 2011. Even Burke was doing well.

This has been a strange year already. Mostly losing but several games where the other teams just play like complete garbage. Hopefully we can eventually win some games where the other team plays well (assuming we do win this game which isn't for sure).

And his whining doesn’t help. It’s so old and sometimes you don’t get every call. Especially at the end of a half.
