Default Marfa

I'm going to Marfa for a day or two over the Holidays. I wondered if anybody on the board has ever been? If so, what did you think?

I've been to Big Bend a couple of times - going near- but never to Marfa...

Also, as you can tell from my avatar, I'm a big fan of the movie Giant which was filmed there in 1955. So, I'm geeked up about that.

I love that area... interestinly enough, Giant is the only "old" movie that I sincerely like.

Can't say that the Marfa Lights are anything to get excited about... we didn't see 'em when we went.

Marfa was cool- but I liked Ft. Davis (25 miles away) more. Absolutely breathtaking. Maybe the most beautiful scenery in the State.

Ah, Marfa, very close to chiwas. Once an officer hold me at the postoffice for speeding in the highway to Presidio, while I payed the fine. There is a mountain with the Lincoln profile that you can watch from the road, I think midway to Alpine (can't remember well).
