Herschel Walker...MMA
http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news;_yl...yhoo&type=lgns
I'm not a fan of fighting sports, nothing against them, just not my thing...but I am a fan of Herschel Walker.
As a kid in the 80's Walker was one of my favorites, from his days at Georgia.
I recall a Sports Illustrated article that showed him working out and talked about how he never worked out with Weights...at least back then, not sure if that changed over time or not.
Anyway, pretty cool article and I wish him the best on his MMA debut!!!

Watching the video clip of his Interview on Yahoo Sports...he is still in great shape.
I was also impressed that he is donating all the proceeds to a foundation through Tony Evans, the Pastor out at Oak Cliff Bible Church.
Pastor Evans is one my favorite Pastor/Speakers...if I recall correctly, in the 80's or so, he also served as the Chaplain for the Dallas Mavericks...not sure how much he is still associated with our beloved Mavs.
Unfortunately, I don't have Showtime (Personal Choice)...so hopefully, they will show this MMA bout as a re-run on some other channel in the not too distant future.
If anyone gets wind of a replay or some other network getting to show this...please post.

I thought you didn't have Showtime because you couldn't afford it!
He *has* to be in top shape. MMA is no joke, you can get beat down pretty bad if you ain't in tip-top shape. Heck, you can get whooped even being in the best shape of your life, cut as a rock!

Oh ya, I forgot, I wasted so much money on the Big Screens, I no longer have the money for the content
FWIW, I choose to not have any movie channels (Showtime, HBO, etc...) due to some of the Pornographic content that they broadcast. Hey to each there own, I just choose to not have that stuff broadcast in my house.
So hopefully, this particular MMA bout will air somewhere else at some...if not, I'm sure I'll read about it.

No Showtime!? How do you watch Dexter!?
Actually, I don't have it either, I just dl them on my computer. But Showtime has top notch shows...unlike Skinemax.

My apologies...I tried watchign Dexter, but just couldn't get into it.
I catch some of those movie channels when I'm on the road...each time, I find them less and less interesting to me.
If I want movies, I just go out and buy them...most DVD's you can pick up for $5-$10 and watch whenever you want, rather than get stuck with what's on the channel.
The only downer, is not catching some of the "Sports" that comes on these channels...but hey, it's all about choices...either way, there are both positives and negatives, and it's about which choices fit our own individual preferences.
I'll be looking for the write ups on Herschel's fight. Hope it goes well and honestly, hope it attracts some new viewers to the sport.

Walker won and, despite the guy they put against him being rather mediocre at best, he was still impressive minus the little dance he did in the ring. I must say, I hope when I am in my mid to late 40s I have half the body that dude has. Hell, I would settle for it in my late 20s. Check this freak out:
