Unfortunately
1) Opponents play second line defense. Dirk is not fast enough to get past them and the supporting cast doesn't make them pay enough for this.
2) Dirk often doesn't get a call on his drives.
(typically) the player crowding dirk has quicker feet than he does. for example, if its bowen, even with the crowding, bowen's gonna beat him to the spot as often as he's not.

For some reason, it has always been ok for defenders to abuse Dirk like a stepchild when he's out on the perimeter. If it were a smaller perimeter player, they'd be at the line 10-15 times a game.. but, it's Dirk. It sucks, but that's the way it has always been so I suppose that's the way it will always be.

The thing is, if they would just make the calls for a couple of weeks, it would all clear up. The league doesn't have to do anything differently..just give him the same calls that others are given on the perimeter. After a couple of weeks, teams around the league will take notice and will defend without the constant hacking and shoving when he's out 15-20 feet from the bucket.

I agree but I don't know what dirk can do about it. I dont' think cubes could post ever bad call on the perimeter without getting fined to death and there is NEVER...EVER clarification from the NBA.

It's f'you fans...we're the NBA...we don't have to tell you s***.

Dirk's had a Hall of Fame career while dealing with it. He's going to keep doing what he's been doing.
