Going Old School
Here's one that gives the Mavs a guy who might be a better swingman than Finley point in each player's career. Nellie made Spree the player who he is and he would play, play hard for Nellie, and even harder for AJ.
Dallas trades: SG Michael Finley (17.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.6 apg in 38.4 minutes) Dallas receives: SG Latrell Sprewell (12.7 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 30.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: -5.2 ppg, -1.7 rpg, and -0.6 apg. Minnesota trades: SG Latrell Sprewell (12.7 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 30.4 minutes) Minnesota receives: SG Michael Finley (17.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.6 apg in 38.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: +5.2 ppg, +1.7 rpg, and +0.6 apg. Another one of the lateral trades that gains nothing, and is just to make a trade.
Finley, Sprewell, Allen, Stackhouse, Eddie Jones, -- all on the same level and basically the same player. Sprewell is better at driving, but has less jumper than Fin. Both are older. The Mavs lose their marketing ability with Fin (# in refters,etc), and his leadership; for what, a guy who is going to average about what Fin does, is the 2nd offensive option (like Fin), and will have to be overpaid or will go somewhere else. No thanks.

Right know both guys don't mean very much to their respective teams. Finley has three more years left after this season. I dislike spree but he is a nellie guy. Nellie drafted him at what 20 not so long ago.
