Other than that awful foul at the end of the first half, yeah, Terry played very smart basketball tonight.

Dirk, beast!
Haywood was quietly HUGE and Brewer brought the spark. I think RC stays with the same starting lineup for the sake of continuity but we'll be seeing more of Corey for sure.

Disagree with the title. "Stealing" implies theft or secrecy. The Mavericks walked in, punched the Lakers in the face, and calmly grabbed the win and sauntered off.

Mavs benefitted from a good reffing crew tonight. Strangely enough we want the ref crew to allow MORE contact not less.

I might be ignorant of the best plays for the Lakers, but my friend and I were just talking about how arrogant that play was for Jackson to run. Yes, Kobe is awesome, but why not try for an easier two points to send it into OT?

You know what?? EFF THE LAKERS!! That's what you get when taking this Dallas team for granted! As long as the Mavs absolutely *believe* that they can win this series, they will do it, and that's taking nothing away from who we're playing.

Bynum didn't even play half his minutes against Haywood and I've already rattled off that two of his four baskets that came while Haywood was in the game. So I'm not sure how Haywood gets most of the credit. Haywood played well, but he's not the whole story here.

Well I thought Haywood played better defense than Tyson when he was in the game. That's how I saw it. +6 seems to indicate something to that effect. Didn't say it was the whole story. Tyson was great on Pau down the stretch.

Not to belittle the game six performance against Portland, it's only a game one after all, but... most enjoyable playoff win since...when? Game six against Suns in Phoenix, 2006? Is that a bit much? Maybe, but it's the Lakers for Pete's sake.

Not enough people are mentioning Corey Brewer here. Dude was a HUGE spark. +11 in only 8 minutes and he was doing all kinds of great things. Kobe hit some shots on him, but Kobe was hot. Brewer is just so active and he actually moves around on offense. He really needs to start Game 2. DeShawn was killing us, and his defense was surprisingly terrible.

Haywood and Chandler were both way better than they have been on Bynum which is huge. And the refs actually called Bynum for 3 seconds! A harbinger of good things to come?

Kobe had 29 shots and none were within 11 feet. I can live with that even if he's making them like he did tonight.
