He’s been the best player in the league in that span. It’s unreal.

One of the most underrated players of all time because of the team he plays on. Although they made the WCF last year no one expected that.

Harden has only led the Rockets to 1 WCF appearance too iirc, and Lillard is way more efficient and doesn't rely on flopping to get points.

Edit: sorry Harden got them there twice. Still would take Dame though.

Both are great players. You have to remember about Dame though last year he had a nice playoff run but him and CJ McCollum don't tend to play their best basketball when the playoffs come around. I think Harden has that knock on him as well.

Refs swallow their whistles more in the playoffs and that really effects Harden's game more than any player.

He was young but I can't get over how god awful he was in his only Finals with OKC. If he played just decent they win that series.

watching him play has been pretty amazing. I think in past I saw him as just a short chucker who'd never win but wow, he's stepped it up big time. fearless, drilling 3's from deep, plays hard on D - he's short, but good quicks and battles even when being posted by bigger guys, boxes out and rebounds...

He's fun to watch.

@mgiannotto: Dillon Brooks on Andre Iguodala: “I cant wait til we find a way to trade him so we can play him and show him really what Memphis is about.”

This has a few players chiming in. I like Morant a lot more after his response to Curry. Are the two LA teams the only teams on Iggy’s list?

Didn’t Memphis trade a 1st for him? Looking almost as bad as when we got Rondo... Eff Iggy, hope he rots.

KP drops 38 last night, this happens today... Coincidence?

@wojespn: New York is parting ways with President Steve Mills, league source tells ESPN.

When the Memphis Grizzlies acquired Andre Iguodala in a trade from the Golden State Warriors over the summer, the plan was always to flip the veteran forward. The Grizzlies got a first-rounder in the deal and agreed to let Iguodala essentially skip the season until traded.

Agreed. Fuck Iggy. I know the teams agreed that he wouldn’t show up, but he could have been a good mentor to these young guys. No reason he couldn’t play while Memphis explores trades. I hope nobody wants him and his overpriced contract, but I imagine Memphis would take anything for him.

@wojespn: Knicks owner Jim Dolan is targeting Toronto president Masai Ujiri to ultimately oversee New York’s operations, league sources tell ESPN. He is under contract through 2020-2021 in Toronto.

Ben Rohrbach: There’s a new wrinkle to the 3-point contest. Participants get two more shots from 29 feet, 9 inches in what will be known as the “Dew Zones” (using green balls sponsored by Mountain Dew). Shots are worth 3 points, raising max from 36 to 42. Time is increased from 1:00 to 1:10. – via Twitter brohrbach

I was never really a Parsons fan but I do feel sorry for him. I think he showed flashes but just couldn't stay healthy. Now a probable career ending car wreck where he's hit by a drunk driver, just sad.

Sucks it went down that way. Never wish injury on anyone, but he seems like a douche bag.

So the Rockets beat the Lakers and now everyone is ready to crown their small ball with a championship? It was one game and the Lakers are 5-5 in their last 10... Maybe pump the brakes a bit? Everyone is so quick to build a narrative to get those clicks; sports is more of an echo chamber than politics these days.

horribly missed goal-tending call by the refs in Portland loss to Jazz.
Mark Cuban@mcuban
This is not an aberration. In our Jan 25th game the NBA admitted there were 3 missed goaltends IN A SINGLE QUARTER ! They blamed the misses on mechanics. ‘That’s something the NBA should look at’: Donovan Mitchell and Jazz agree league officials’ failures
Luka Doncic@luka7doncic - - how you miss that call?

OH! and while I'm here - the Jazz always seem to get the benefit of the calls at home.

Damian Lillard said the ref told him "It's an easy no call."
Maybe the league needs to look into the competence of the fools that reffed this game - Josh Tiven, Brian Forte, and JB Derosa.
BTW, Lillard had three free throws all night.

Spurs buying out Demare Carroll and intends to sign with the Rockets. Rockets also intend on signing Jeff Green per Woj.

Two pretty good bench singings.

Surprised both are signing in Houston. Figured one of them would want a chance for minutes on a playoff team.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Kyrie Irving elected as VP at Players Association meeting today, per source.

The players really picked Kyrie to be their representative? Dude is a space cadet with an inferiority complex.

The Cavs were literally killing their coach...

@TheSteinLine: Beilein: “This was a very difficult decision ... but I want to be clear: This was my decision to step down and I truly appreciate the understanding and support of the front office ... I find losing very challenging and this year has taken a much bigger toll on me than I expected. I grew concerned for the consequences this toll could potentially take on my own health and my family’s well-being down the road. I was not certain I could be at my best for the remainder of the season and in the future.”

@ShamsCharania: Indiana’s Jeremy Lamb has suffered a torn ACL, torn meniscus and fracture in his left knee.

There was one quadruple-double with turnovers between 1987 and 2016.
We've had 10 since 2016.
Eight of them courtesy of James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

ROCKETS-
(edited language from reddit)
How bad*off is Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta?
From what I remember the purchase of the Rockets wasn't as simple as Ballmer paying cash for the Clippers.

The bond sale will be used for the $1.75 billion of equity Fertitta is using to buy the Rockets, along with $175 million of assumed debt and a $275 million loan from Leslie Alexander, the seller of the NBA team.

This dude owns:
Restaurants -*
Hotels -*
Casinos -*
Amusement parks, aquariums, boardwalks.
Sports teams -*
Wrote a book that nobody read -
While the rest of the world is also struggling, at least Houston fans have a chance of getting rid of a *** owner through this.

Per @wojespn
- The NBA's inviting 22 teams to Orlando
- 13 Western Conf
- 9 Eastern Conf
- 8 regular season games per team
- Play-in for the 8th seeds
- July 31-October 12
- Vote being held tomorrow to ratify
"The NBA's back."

So the Mavs have already played 3 more games than everyone else - does it count?

Injuries will happen when players haven't been able to practice.

I view this more as a fun exhibition versus taking it too seriously. Whoever wins it will have a BIG asterisk surrounding it.

NBA in July/August sounds good to me. Usually the two most dreadful months of the offseason.

agree and it will be very hard for baseball to compete with the TV ratings of both the NBA and NHL.
Conversely - since the NBA playoffs will wrap up in mid Oct. - NCAAF and NFL will crush the ratings of the NBA.
